by Anonymousreply 10September 20, 2022 2:30 PM

The Carolean age refers to the era of King Charles I who caused a civil war in England, a faux pas that got him a slap on the wrist. After he was executed for spending too much money on his stamp collection, his son, Charles ll, got the hell out of Dodge which ushered in something called the Interregnum which means "the period between the discovery of radioactivity and its detailed understanding". I kid you not, look it up. When that got boring England brought back Charles ll, who had been hiding in France under his mother's petticoat for 2 years, which ushered in the age of the Restoration. This was a merry time in England since Charles ll was an irreligious drunken reprobate like the majority of his subjects.

WE MOVE ON, OP.

FUCK YOU FOR STARTING ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT THIS DEAD CUNT.

by Anonymousreply 12September 20, 2022 2:43 PM

The pre-Charlotte era.

by Anonymousreply 13September 20, 2022 2:45 PM

The Elizabethan era refers to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, we don't really use these terms when it comes to modern monarchs anymore because they're mostly just tourist attractions these days, with no power to shape national or global politics.

by Anonymousreply 14September 20, 2022 2:47 PM

Who's the next Plantagenet in line? They need to give them another chance.

by Anonymousreply 15September 20, 2022 2:48 PM

It's the Carlton Era

by Anonymousreply 16September 20, 2022 2:50 PM

The Elizabethan era was between Nov 17, 1558 and Mar 24, 1603. It's been over for about 400 years.

by Anonymousreply 17September 20, 2022 2:51 PM

[quote]The Elizabethan era refers to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I,

I've read in books from the 60s about the NEW Elizabethan Age.

by Anonymousreply 28September 20, 2022 11:51 PM

Queen Elizabeth I was a vicious cunt who persecuted people because of their religion and their sexual proclivities. Her heir Elizabeth II was a saint in comparison.

by Anonymousreply 34September 21, 2022 12:29 AM

I will refer to it as the Methuselah Era.

[quote]Queen Elizabeth I was a vicious cunt

Well she gave me a nice home

by Anonymousreply 50September 21, 2022 3:29 PM

I think Charles will surprise us with his downsizing and his "active interest" in the environment. The media read his comments the wrong way, as is their habit. When he said he wouldn't have time for all his patronages now and things he used to be involved in, I do not think he meant he was giving up his activism. It meant he was giving up all those obscure, bullshit patronages that sap one's time. His first Act, according to t he Foreign Office, will be to visit France after he completes his mourning period. He and Macron are going to continue involvement with environmental projects. That is saying a lot. I do thinki he will step on toes and be more involved than his prime ministers would like.

by Anonymousreply 51September 21, 2022 3:35 PM

The Charlatan Era we should call it

The Cuckold Age

by Anonymousreply 54September 21, 2022 10:36 PM

Don’t panic it’s organic. Charles is in charge I hope King Charles iii makes his beautiful green island as green as possible. Some of the best gardeners ever are in the UK. Is he still allowed to play polo? I know he can’t be told what to do because he is the boss, but his Mother did so much for animal and veterinary charities. He and his sons don’t seem so animal obsessed so hopefully Camilla and Sophie can help, because they are horse people. He seems to get along with Anne but her and her kids have minimal interest in the royal scene. They were very supportive and respectful.

by Anonymousreply 55September 22, 2022 12:37 AM

Anne is the hardest working Royal in the fucking family. She is a close confidante to Charles and will probably be kept very busy.
