There were Animal Kingdom threads on DL for every season it aired. The Season 4 thread ....

I just discovered the series and OP is correct it rocks, Ellen Barkin is bad ass in that series and totally caught off guard about the gay subplot that starts in about the 3rd or 4th episode in the first season. Lots of rear male nudity of all the brothers. The twink comes to live with them is cute too. All the men have nice bodies.

I like Marlin Perkins.

So this was based off a true story but they left out the sexual molestation from the mother? I was wondering why Ellen Barkin character was always trying to have a conversion with the 17 year old Twink in the shower. Nice touch.

Jake Weary (gay son) is a nepo baby - Kim Zimmer - Reva Shayne from Guiding Light. He’s now the star of The Waterfront on Netflix.

I just started this as well because of OP's post. I remember seeing a random episode because I hear there was a gay storyline. But these shows aren't shows you drop in on randomly. I'm only three episodes in but loving the vibe and sexy men.

I'm also tired as hell of waiting years for shows to post new seasons. Gilded Age wont be back for two damn years. Glad to start a completed show. No waiting, I get to just enjoy the ride.

Also, the twinks girlfriend is trash. Don't know where things are going but he could pull a better piece of ass.

Actually, I was going to check out ANIMAL KINGDOM because while I was watching THE WATERFRONT and decided I was very hot for Jake Weary, I saw that ANIMAL KINGDOM, in which he also starred, was in the Top Ten on Netflix as well, and when I read about that, WATERFRONT seemed like a ripoff of it, though in interviews, Jake Weary was at pains to point out the differences in the two series.

OP- I owe you one- I stopped after a certain woman's final season (No spoilers!) and I did not return for some reason (after loving the show) I need to watch the final seasons!!! I think it was around Covid where I forgot about the show! Maybe slightly after.

It got pretty paint-by-numbers. I gave up after the 4th season. Especially after.......

I thought after they killed off You know who, that it would suck. I still watched the remaining 2 seasons and the very last episode ties up all the history in a nice bow. Not ground breaking but It's worth hanging in there. Lot's of flashbacks of when the boys were young and Smerf had a daughter.

I liked the show a lot but also felt the need to bail after the 4th season.

I loved the flashback episodes. Leila George was fantastic and incredibly good looking (said as a 100% gay).

Looked up Leila George, and she was in the iconic, "Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?".

I stopped watching after you know who dies. Maybe I'll pick it up again.

The flashback episodes were terrible.

I loved the flashbacks though kept hoping in vain that they would explain when Barkin was always dragging her leg, which I guess was some ridiculous affection.
