He was well-cast as Prince Phillip who is one of the most handsome, kindest and charming Disney princes. However Maleficent was the "Angelina Jolie show" and was created to cash-in on the popularity of Disney Villains. So Phillip and Aurora became background characters. I would love to see Brenton in an actual adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, Prince Phillip was the real hero of the story along with the three fairies, Aurora and Maleficent are barely in the original movie.

I think like Taylor Lautner and Adrian Grenier, his ambiguous race didn't help his career. The Rock and Vin Diesel are clearly light-skinned Black men though they play white and different races in movies. I think with people like Brenton, you can't place his race anywhere and it makes it hard to cast and for audiences to relate to him. American audiences want people they put into a box due to politics. He's clearly part Aborigine/Pacific Islander but the mixing with British and Irish just looks so foreign to US tastes.

He's still too young for Bond. But he could do more niche films. I can see him in psychological, horror or noir films. Brenton still looks like he's in his 20s with his soft baby face and rosy cheeks. So yes he'll need more to be seasoned more before taking over for Bond.
