I read the same interview he gave as one of the earlier posters did. Efron claims he broke his jaw because he slipped on his floor while running inside with only socks on and hitting a table or counter. He claims that he only had surgery to fix the broken jaw, no cosmetic surgery. Says that his surgeon told him that his masseter muscles around his jaw became overworked and enlarged post-surgery. I’m rather dubious of that explanation.

We'll have to wait a few months and see if everything settles down. He may end up quite striking.
