Well, I got it somewhat right: Kate wore those same pearl and diamond earrings that were once on permanent loan to Diana, and are now on permanent loan to Kate, along with the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara.
Wrong on wearing "all that" would have been crass. She wore the enormous pearl and diamond brooch and the earrings, and it was fine. She's tall enough not to look overdressed in these things.
The two-strand pearl necklace is quite long, opera length I think they call it, so it would have been quite demure enough with the earrings and a brooch relieving the stark of the black.
But to see them one needs to wear something that opens in front. It wouldn't do on the outside of a coatdress like the one Kate wore today.
So, alas, I suspect we will not see them on Monday.
One notes that Meghan's black was completely unrelieved, because no one offered her a necklace or brooch with which to finish off her ensemble.
If she hadn't made enemies of them, she could have requested and I'm sure they would have been glad to loan her something. That they didn't tells you something.
And, of course, she had to hustle and order up some mourning clothes from the shops at home.
Harry: I'm not spending money on a diamond brooch so you can look like the other bitches.
Meghan: Well, then don't complain when the Mail photos come out and I look like the maid.
Harry: That's a microagression.
Meghan: That's the fucking truth.
