MSNBC - PART 41
by Anonymous | reply 441 | November 9, 2022 6:18 AM |
Katy Tur is acting her heart out during this queen thing.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 10, 2022 11:20 AM |
Has Ali Velshi always used his hands so much when he talks? I don't remember him doing that. I use to one of his biggest fans from way back when he was on CNN and now I can't stand to watch him.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 10, 2022 4:04 PM |
WTF did Steph Ruhle do to her face last night?? Hopefully, it was just some bad makeup and not something more drastic.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 10, 2022 5:51 PM |
I wish someone would reply to Tur's favorite "how do you feel" question with:
"How the fuck do you think we feel--they've cancelled all our soccer matches for this!"
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 10, 2022 5:52 PM |
There was some scary lipstick drama going on, R3; her upper lip looked ready to peel off and fly home.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 10, 2022 5:56 PM |
Yeah, I don't get it, r5. There was a brown line around only Ruhle's upper lip and her eyes just weren't hers. But has she been away long enough (or at all) for the healing to occur if it was plastic surgery? Such a pretty girl, why can't she leave herself be?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 10, 2022 6:00 PM |
r1, Katy Tur needs to repeat the phrase The Sussexes at St. James's.
Saint James-iz.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 10, 2022 6:21 PM |
It appears that Red M removed Part 40.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 10, 2022 6:24 PM |
Hmmmmm,........why do you suppose?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 10, 2022 9:25 PM |
R8 So odd.

Camilla, Queen Courtesan

Senor Wences and his puppet! That's what came to mind after seeing Stephanie Ruhle last night.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 10, 2022 11:42 PM |
R12 Well there goes Velshi's bid for that slot on CNN.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 11, 2022 5:47 AM |
MSNBC was interviewing British people outside of Buckingham Palace on Saturday, and there were a couple of cute straight guys who started hugging each other and pretending to be in mourning.
It was weird, but funny.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 11, 2022 9:52 AM |
How did you know they were straight, r16?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 11, 2022 2:07 PM |
OMG it’s 9/11…enough about the Queen.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 11, 2022 2:23 PM |
CNN is fucked up but at least they are showing 9/11 memorial. MSNBC is getting off on the royals this weekend.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 11, 2022 3:10 PM |
Another illustration showing MSNBC is little more than TMZ with pretensions.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 11, 2022 3:19 PM |
Love TMZ. Love MSNBC. Love, love, love.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 11, 2022 10:15 PM |
R21 Me too. Love pretense as well. Love it.

DL fave Morgan Chesky co-anchored "Morning News NOW" on Monday.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 13, 2022 5:20 AM |
Stephanie's eyes and lips seemed back to normal last night. So that's good.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 13, 2022 3:09 PM |
I noticed, R23. He's a good looking guy, but he seems to be more attractive reporting in the field than on the anchor desk.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 13, 2022 3:18 PM |
Morgan Chesky is aided immeasurably by a few opened buttons at his clavicle.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 13, 2022 3:23 PM |
Steph is on right now with Jose and she looks like she's not wearing any makeup at all. Her hair is just casually pulled back from her face. She sure doesn't look like she's had any work done.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 13, 2022 3:24 PM |
Garrett Haake is the one with anchor potential. I think he's on paternity leave.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 13, 2022 4:17 PM |
Nicolle is on a roll today !!!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 13, 2022 10:36 PM |
Morgan is all about that prodigious neck and exposed plunging neckline. Love him in profile.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 13, 2022 10:47 PM |
I was prompted to make a hackneyed comment about cookies, but on reexamination he looks a bit like a serial killer in waiting.

Morgan Chesky and Steven Romo co-anchoring! Yum!

R32 In an earlier thread there was some disagreement over what trouser assets he possesses. a snack or a meal.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 14, 2022 12:26 AM |
What is Joy wearing?
And how did she manage to turn a short crop wig into a MOHAWK?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 14, 2022 12:32 AM |
Jen Psaki!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 14, 2022 2:13 AM |
Jen looks gorgeous on the show!
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 14, 2022 2:16 AM |
Hmmm, Alex Wagner showed a clip of Adam Kinzinger when he appeared on Morning Joe this morning, however she just described it as a clip from earlier on MSNBC today. I see Rachel's staff is carrying on the feud with Joe Scarborough.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 14, 2022 2:29 AM |
I know I'm the minority here, but I like Joy Reid...but what the fuck? She needs to pull herself together, her clothes and hair are a distraction from the important stories she's covering.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 14, 2022 2:34 AM |
Alex is growing on me, I was a little put off at the beginning, She's a little too pretty or perky, but I'm warming to her.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 14, 2022 2:35 AM |
R39 - I wish Chris Jansing would take that Reid woman shopping; hell! I'd welcome Rachel Maddow providing her with wardrobe advice!
What. A. Mess.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 14, 2022 3:03 AM |
R37 On which show did Jen appear?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 14, 2022 6:58 AM |
R38 Ari likewise showed a clip of Berman being interviewed from MJ without referencing the source. Morning Joe was clearly tagged in the corner of the clip. Probably no feud involved.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 14, 2022 7:06 AM |
Jen Psaki was on with Alex Wagner last night, r42.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 14, 2022 1:26 PM |
R44 Thanks.
Yes she does look good, but somehow I had never noticed before how very dark her eyes are. Slightly off-putting on a redhead. Not anywhere near as disturbing as the black-eyed blond Gwen Stephani effect.

Extensive Brandon today on set opening Deadline WH, Looking much more comfortable in his skin, and even cracking a smile multiple times.

R46 Even wisecracking that he's no Neal Katyal!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 16, 2022 10:28 PM |
I live for Neal Katyal's smirks and side eyes!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | September 16, 2022 10:30 PM |
No Rachel on Monday?
Is Alex taking over the slot?
Has Rachel forsaken us?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 17, 2022 3:02 AM |
Is Rachel attending the Queens funeral?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 17, 2022 3:06 AM |
Happy to see my cutie Harry Litman's getting a lot of air time; he and Neal should co-host a justice series.
Stephanie looks "off" again tonight. Might there be a bun in the oven?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 17, 2022 4:24 AM |
R48 Katyal is now also the purveyor of the extreme off-the-wall analogy. Didn't he reference Kap'n Krunch or Fred Flintstone recently.
I do prefer his to those of the unfunny John Oliver.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 17, 2022 8:29 AM |
I ,love Neal and Andrew and Harry but I wish Glenn Kirchner would appear more often. So many hot lawyer daddies!
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 17, 2022 2:04 PM |
You can get a consistent flow of Glenn and what he has to say on his YouTube channel.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 17, 2022 10:00 PM |
I just wish Glenn would unbutton a bit. Even on his Insta account he's usually dressed up in a suit and tie.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 18, 2022 4:46 AM |
They pick Andrea Mitchell to anchor in London !!!
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 18, 2022 5:52 PM |
That would have been Don Lemon anchoring had the QUEEN died a year ago
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 18, 2022 6:05 PM |
The amount of coverage of the Queen's death has received is remarkable. Everything that can be said has already been said hundreds of times over, by hundreds of talking heads, everyone repeating themselves and each other. It's a nice break from the Trump wall-to-wall, but at least that has daily new developments. I suppose if Trump were to kick it, owing to a fatal stroke from all the Diet Coke he guzzles, coverage might be similarly overdone.

R59 = Miffed Joy Ann Reid because MSNBC, in a rare instance of attention to viewer complaints, kept her tacky ass stateside and instead sent Chris Jansing to cover the events.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 19, 2022 5:21 PM |
Watching ERII’s funeral on MSNBC… they have Michael Beschloss commenting on the BRF leaving the chapel, and my husband asks “What’s up with that one eyebrow?”
I asked him “what eyebrow?” Thinking he was talking about Brooksbank exiting. He says “That man’s eyebrow! That man talking!”
I look up and Michael has only one eyebrow “painted” or made up or whatever. He def needs to hire Andrea’s makeup artists when she retires. They never let her look as demented as she really is. And sadly, Michael is following quick on her heels.
Posting here as well as the funeral thread because shortly after I see Katy Tur pull that condescending act on Andrew ON CAMERA as is she’s Lady Gaga wheeling Liza around stage while simultaneously cleaning up dribble off Tony Bennett’s chin.
I’m amused by it all and am here for the inevitable blood bath.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | September 19, 2022 5:21 PM |
R62: Beschloss's eyebrows have been distractions for the past year or two (see his online images). I think he has a habit of raising one for emphasis and maybe overcompensating with makeup; that, or perhaps it is due to illness.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 19, 2022 6:25 PM |

He's definitely increased his level of confidence since beginning to anchor - as would be expected - but I think that lends to his attractiveness.
He's got such great natural skin tone, enhanced by the sun, too bad they chose to make him up so heavily with that continuous tone ochre.

Michael Cohen is great TV, I have a hard time trusting what he says because of his past though. Only reason I put any trust in what he says is that it will completely destroy what is left of him if he is found to be lying.
Andrew Weissmann was talking about having a conversation with two high placed retired FBI agents where they didn't think Trump would be charged with any crimes. Man I would have loved to eavesdrop on that conversation.

Anyone else see they had a roundtable on the 11th Hour last night? I haven't watched MSNBC closely but the energy at the table felt familiar, like all the people were too excited to be there--Steph included.
Have they been bringing the roundtable back on other shows? I missed it dearly.

Think John Heilemann was in Eataly Flatiron today. He was wearing a KN95 mask with his black glasses. If it was him—definitely tall, but not as buff as he comes across on TV.
And no ass to fill out those jeans..

MSNBC political contributor Dr. Jason Johnson claimed he can see a “blame game” being set up against Black voters, especially Black men, ahead of potential Democratic Party losses in the midterms.
While discussing the upcoming midterm elections and various voting groups on MSNBC’s The Cross Connection, Johnson pushed back on Black voters being blamed for the “failings on the part of the Democratic Party.”
“Black men get blamed, and Black people in general get blamed, for failings on the part of the Democratic Party,” he said, arguing pundits could say Black voters didn’t “turn out” if Democrats face major losses.
“The vast majority of Black men are still voting for Democratic candidates, but the question and the thing I hear from people all the time that’s important is, what has the Democratic Party done for Black men?”
“That’s a fair question,” Cross agreed.
Johnson argued the Democratic Party “doesn’t always support” Black voters, but they should be more focused on them.
On The Cross Connection last week, pundit Roland S. Martin made a similar argument, claiming the Democratic Party’s biggest problem is “White strategists” are the decision makers and they are ignoring Black male voters.
“What you’re seeing are Black men who are saying you’re not paying attention to me, you’re ignoring what’s happening when it comes to economics you’re ignoring me when it comes to the critical issues,” Martin said.

What is with all this crap about Democrats having to pay attention to this group or that group or they will spite themselves and vote Republican. Pure bullshit. That's why I think the gay community came so far and so fast because they supported the Democrats 100% BEFORE any election. Gays treated the Democrats like a pro sports team going into battle for the gays. Total support. The negotiation took place behind doors AFTER the elections. Boo fucking hoo that black men feel ignored. Lazy fuckers. Black women have been protecting them for years. And now Latinos. Fuck you for threatening Democrats before an election so that you can get some sweet public ass kissing. Assholes. You get no ass kissing if your puffed up overly expectant asses do not show up and vote for Democrats. And just like Black men, if you vote God, Family and THEN country, you are pre-fucking yourselves for disappointment. What assholes. Let me review, show up in force, donate plenty of cash, and guarantee the vote for Democrats. THEN you can negotiate, behind the scenes, for your piece of the pie when Democrats are in power.

Handsome as he is, there's something very asexual about Ari. It's hard for me to picture him seducing a woman (or a man, for that matter). Seems like quoting rap lyrics is as far as he goes.

Just sigh and settle in.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | September 27, 2022 5:26 AM |
For those who don't watch Rachel's show, the reason she did that was to discuss the fascists' rise to power in 1922.
Some time after they were yanked out of power, the organization Brothers of Italy was formed in which one of the subsequent leaders declared, "We are all heirs of Mussolini."
That led Rachel to that party's latest head, Georgia Meloni, who will be Italy's next PM, and who in the past met with Steve Bannon, was invited to the National Prayer Breakfast in DC by the Republican Party, and who spoke a few months ago at CPAC.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | September 27, 2022 1:17 PM |
OK, that opening was good but when Rachel was on all week, she would pound American fascists for a whole week if not more. This once a week crap is not a format for Rachel. The entire fake electors' sedition is a Rachel subject that only Rachel had, that she pounded week after week. Then, boom, it hit the J6 committee radar as a point to be connected.
Rachel can't do that once, if that, a week. Once a week is like jerking off to a memory of how good she was. OK, but not satisfying.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | September 27, 2022 4:04 PM |
You don't honestly think that the J6 committee wouldn't have looked into the fake electors scheme unless RM discussed it on her show, do you?! That's laughable. They are more than capable of addressing things without the input of the blinking, pregnant-pausing, soliloquies presented by the black blazered one.

In September, on evenings “Alex Wagner Tonight” aired, MSNBC saw a stunning year-over-year drop from 2021, when Maddow hosted. In the key 25-54 advertising demo, Wagner’s show lost 50% of Maddow’s audience, sinking from an average in 2021 of 304,000 demo viewers to 151,000 in 2022. And in total viewers, the numbers were down 34%, from 2.4 million to 1.6 million.

That's just it - I don't think she's focused on a target audience. Exactly who is she trying to grab as viewers on weeknights at 9 ? I don't think it's the Maddow audience, that's for sure. There's no alternative at CNN in that hour, and sometimes I'm tempted to switch over to H-H-H-H-H-H-Hannity, which lasts 30 seconds before I catch him in a lie and click away.

Jealous much R279? That stuff in Heilemann's house is not cheap. Is a 5,000 chair mid-range? Kitschy flair? Let me guess, you home is stuffed full of antiques and swag curtains. A modern day Liberace who thinks his style is "classy".

5000.00 is upper middle range, certainly not fine or investment quality.
by Anonymous | reply 281 | October 8, 2022 6:32 AM |
No one said his furniture had to be "investment quality". High end design does not equate to investment. You are talking art pieces at that point. A chair that no one would be allowed to sit on because it's one of a kind. At that point you cant really call it furniture, more of a museum piece.

I like Heilemann's collection of quirky brightly colored ceramic woodland creatures.
I'm sure his must be ultra high end limited edition pieces, but I liked them enough to search for more affordable versions. Sure enough several offerings available right in my price range. Will look great next to my knock-off Marcel Duchamp urinal.

Jealous much [R280]?
If you meant "Envious much?", yes definitely, really like Heilemann's decor. In his NYC apt/loft, but even more so in his home in L.A., which we rarely get to see, but has made a few appearances on Showtime's The Circus. He's got good taste and an interesting personal style for sure, just wouldn't peg it as super high end. Didn't mean to come off as critical.
[quote] I'm sure his must be ultra high end limited edition pieces
You're probably right, to the extent that Heilemann's collection likely includes some of Jonathan Adler's trendy ceramic and stoneware animals.

Thanks Joshua Johnson. Pot meet Kettle. Oh but you are black so you are forgiven if you are on MSNBC or NBC.
White gay guys on the other hand are held to a higher standard. That's why there can never be an openly gay hot white man on MSNBC, the "gay" part must always be rolled into another minority or be a lesbian.

I didn't know for example that it was Reagan admin's fault we ever got a Murdoch-owned right wing network. There was previously a rule that you couldn't own a tv station and a newspaper. The subject is very interesting but her new attitude of not wanting to work much turns me off from wanting to listen. I'll just watch her MSNBC show.
I don't mind promoting what you're doing but it shouldn't be the top or second top story with all the important news going on and especially if you're just working 1 day a week (and special occasions like this Thursday)

so Andy asked Rachel if she'd ever return to her fulltime MSNBC gig and she said "never". She later said when asked about Alex Wagner taking over her time slot Tues-Fri that part of her advice was "you have to kill yourself every show" for it to be good. So I guess Rachel got burnt out.
I don't know the process of making a podcast but maybe the fact that her topic is history and not something happening right now makes it easier for her mentally to fixate on? I mean obviously she did her current podcast because it directly correlates and parallels to what's happening now...

Her Senate colleagues that are Democrats won’t bother confronting her yapping. There is minimal coverage of her continuing to defy a subpoena to testify before a Georgia grand jury.
None of these MSNBC anchors are exceptional as they continue to help enable LadyG with her anti-democratic rhetoric and allegedly criminal behavior in trying to overturn the vote in the 2020 presidential election.

Jake Sherman was on with Nicolle last week 💩
He is a republican apologist & got called out for it.
by Anonymous | reply 393 | October 17, 2022 7:40 AM |
Let’s bring back Jake Sherman 💩
He has been out of the spotlight for a bit, but have a feeling that ass-kisser is going to be on the prowl for some scoop!

I'm watching Nicolle and Claire M. has the most delicious looking pound cake behind her.
by Anonymous | reply 395 | October 17, 2022 9:48 PM |
Was Claire a calculating politician?
by Anonymous | reply 396 | October 17, 2022 9:53 PM |
I don't know, r396, but she has a pretty cake stand.
by Anonymous | reply 397 | October 17, 2022 10:00 PM |
Claire knows how to stage her edibles, better than an Amsterdam window prostitute.

Nicolle Wallace Schmidt is joining Ms. Maddow night!
by Anonymous | reply 399 | October 18, 2022 2:26 AM |
Rachel had a poignant closing to her show. A very quick pass off to Lawrence.
by Anonymous | reply 400 | October 18, 2022 3:13 AM |
Stef just applauded Claire's lemon bundt cake.
by Anonymous | reply 401 | October 18, 2022 4:14 AM |
Is Stef a DLer, r401?

Jesus, Matt Schlapp is a bloody stool.
by Anonymous | reply 403 | October 19, 2022 11:49 PM |
Rachel was on Joy Reid's show tonight to shill the next episode of her podcast. Is she going to keep appearing on every MSNBC show every time a new episode drops?
by Anonymous | reply 404 | October 20, 2022 1:30 AM |
Well, I'm sure she won't be on Morning Joe
by Anonymous | reply 405 | October 20, 2022 1:32 AM |
I don't know why that bothers you, r404. The parallels are both fascinating and scary.
by Anonymous | reply 406 | October 20, 2022 1:56 AM |
Could Rachel be "moving on up to the big league" (major management position)?
Something's up.🤔
by Anonymous | reply 407 | October 20, 2022 2:24 AM |
R407
whaaaat?
by Anonymous | reply 408 | October 20, 2022 3:04 AM |
Claire has abandoned her kitchen and Heilman is a vision in black and taupe.
by Anonymous | reply 409 | October 20, 2022 12:24 PM |
Chuck Todd is there to be “dishy” and captivate the horny viewers.
by Anonymous | reply 410 | October 20, 2022 12:46 PM |
Is Todd on Morning Joe?
by Anonymous | reply 411 | October 20, 2022 12:52 PM |
Michael Cohen was absolutely ON FIRE with Nicolle and Neal Katyal tonight! Give him the 9 pm slot!!
by Anonymous | reply 412 | October 21, 2022 10:41 PM |
I like Michael Cohen in spite of his Trumpian past.
by Anonymous | reply 413 | October 21, 2022 10:50 PM |
I laughed to myself watching the end of Ari’s show tonight. It was him, Ayman, and some “New York jew” comic doing the “Fall Back Friday” segment. They all had that short beard thing going on, and dark hair and strikingly looked related to each other. Or more like one of those skits where there are two imposters trying to look like the third.
I’m sure there are quite a few DL’ers who are still fapping to the thought of a bukkake party on that set. I know I am!

Watching Jonathan Capehart this Sunday morning and, sorry to say, he is still a disaster at interviews. Maybe he has hearing problem? He always seems to hesitate in responding to an interviewee's response.
by Anonymous | reply 416 | October 23, 2022 4:12 PM |
Jonathan capehart is the epitome of MSNBC.
Likeable, unassuming, don’t ruffle feathers, lean in

Then how do you explain Joy Reid?
by Anonymous | reply 418 | October 23, 2022 5:41 PM |
Jim Hines on with Rachel right now and he's in the studio looking even handsomer than he does zooming in.
Sigh......!
by Anonymous | reply 419 | October 25, 2022 2:42 AM |
Chris Murphy is the sexiest politician in CT, but Jim Himes is a close 2nd!!!
by Anonymous | reply 420 | October 25, 2022 11:45 AM |
Himes is handsome and super smart. Harvard and Oxford.

by Anonymous | reply 423 | October 25, 2022 10:12 PM |
Miss Lindzebelle is way behind her time. She would have made a fine 1880 western salon madame.
by Anonymous | reply 424 | October 26, 2022 8:14 AM |
Oh, Lady G's just hungry for some BBC.
by Anonymous | reply 426 | October 28, 2022 12:04 AM |
Graham would be so devastated by these clever comments. It might even take out the fun of being the new Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Budget Committee in a few weeks.

NBC Now - gay male anchor team this morning - Joe Fryer and Steven Romo.
by Anonymous | reply 429 | October 31, 2022 12:05 PM |
My fave combo.
In my best 50s fangurl voice...that Romo is dreamy...
by Anonymous | reply 430 | October 31, 2022 12:41 PM |
Love Romo. Don’t know about fryer. Anything interesting?
by Anonymous | reply 431 | November 1, 2022 1:34 PM |
Ben Collins is on MSNBC often now. Smart, articulate reporter.
by Anonymous | reply 432 | November 1, 2022 9:47 PM |
Joe Fryer is openly gay, R431. Joe and Steven had Ben Collins on this morning (could have been yesterday morning)...what a wicked thing to do to a gay guy trying to get ready for work.

I have had sufficient Steve "team trump cheerleader" Kornacki, second only to the loathsome Jake💩Sherman in hack journalism.
There! I said it.

Agree with your assessment. R434

Michael Fanone was on Nicolle's show today and called Kari Lake a piece of shit. Love him.
by Anonymous | reply 436 | November 2, 2022 1:17 AM |
Fanone made an accurate description of that Lake thing, r436.
by Anonymous | reply 437 | November 2, 2022 1:34 AM |
Steve Kornacki “talks up” Republican changes a bit too much for my preferences. I don’t see him as a Democrat. Maybe I am wrong, but I don’t think so, I have listened to his messaging for a long time.
