Dohmnall Gleeson in "The Patient"

Looking good.

I knew that after Star Wars, people would take notice of him.

Dohmnall made a huge impression, and I predict that he's going to be big in a few years.

He's so handsome, but he looks very different in this series.

This show looks creepy.

I can't wait to watch it!

He -can- look handsome, he can look ugly af. Good thing for an actor or actress

by Anonymousreply 1August 29, 2022 9:47 AM

Carell looks better NOW than he did 20 years ago.

by Anonymousreply 2August 29, 2022 11:44 AM

Why do they have him wearing a fright wig?

Two eps in and not sure where I stand on this show.

by Anonymousreply 3September 20, 2022 10:40 AM

I hate mental illness shit like this. Won't watch.

Tangling with people who have screws loose is no picnic in the park.

by Anonymousreply 4September 20, 2022 10:49 AM

I loathe Steve Carell trying to be dramatic.

by Anonymousreply 5September 20, 2022 10:53 AM

It's really good so far.

by Anonymousreply 6September 20, 2022 11:56 AM

I usually don't like serial killer "entertainment" but this is pretty good.

[quote]I predict that he's going to be big in a few years.

People have been saying this since Harry Potter movies and "True Grit" over a decade ago. He's a character actor and will always remain a character actor.

by Anonymousreply 8September 20, 2022 12:56 PM

Nepo ginger.

by Anonymousreply 9September 20, 2022 1:28 PM

Saw him in a play in Edinburgh. Excellent. Very cute.

by Anonymousreply 10September 20, 2022 1:48 PM

I smell an Emmy Award for Dohmnall!

by Anonymousreply 11September 20, 2022 6:40 PM

He has the bluest eyes in "The Force Awakens."

That's when I feel in love with him.

Is he single?

General HUX and Kylo Renn.

Naked.

Together.

YES, PLEASE!!!

I need to read some fanfic about these two.

[quote]I hate mental illness shit like this.

I'm with you on this one, though typically these kind of creepy serial killer stories involve men victimizing young women. This is kind of an interesting twist in that he's victimizing some old jewish shrink.

by Anonymousreply 15September 21, 2022 12:17 AM

He's lovely.

Great plot premise. I'm enjoying it so far.

by Anonymousreply 18September 27, 2022 6:51 PM

He has nice cheekbones.

by Anonymousreply 19September 27, 2022 6:59 PM

I haven't watched it, and I'm on the fence given it's subject matter, but Steve Carrell needs to lay that pelt on top of me. Shirt off, daddy-o! Let's go! Rawr.

by Anonymousreply 20September 27, 2022 7:11 PM

We just watched ep 3. It’s has its moments but still not grabbing us.

The patient stuff just doesn't feel credible. And the show keeps repeating the same beats. We know Carell’s character isn’t going to be released any time soon so there is no suspense about that.

by Anonymousreply 21September 27, 2022 9:42 PM

Fantastic series. But given it’s from the creators of The Americans I don’t see this ending well for the Carell character. Episode 5 had one of the most disturbing scenes I’ve seen on TV since Philip Jennings put Annalise in a suitcase on The Americans.

by Anonymousreply 22October 16, 2022 2:52 PM

Crap. He's cute though.

by Anonymousreply 23October 16, 2022 3:14 PM

Wow. Just finished The Patient. So dark. I see Emmy Awards. But shit, hard to watch? Anyone else get through this?

by Anonymousreply 24October 26, 2022 12:05 AM

The Patient didn’t catch fire. Wouldn’t expect major awards.

It kept repeating the same beats.

by Anonymousreply 25October 26, 2022 12:33 AM

That was goddamn dark!

by Anonymousreply 26October 26, 2022 1:23 AM

Gleeson definitely inherited the acting gene; he communicates a lot without words.

by Anonymousreply 27October 26, 2022 8:24 AM

[quote]The Patient didn’t catch fire. Wouldn’t expect major awards.

It didn't really seem to get any buzz; the whole "serial killer" thing has been done. But I think it was kind of set up to showcase Steve Carrell's *serious* actor chops, but Gleeson got a lot of positive reviews too in a rather thankless role

by Anonymousreply 28October 26, 2022 11:26 AM

Tedious and unsatisfying.

by Anonymousreply 29October 26, 2022 11:27 AM

Carell, whom I generally don’t like, is excellent in this. But refer to R29.

by Anonymousreply 30October 26, 2022 11:49 AM

Spoiler alert.....

The scene at he table would've been better (and way more comforting) if he'd seen his wife there too.
