Austin Abrams wants his character Nate Jacobs from the series “Euphoria” to explore his sexuality with a boyfriend in its upcoming third season.
The actor, who plays Ethan Daley on the critically acclaimed HBO teen drama, recently told “Nerds of Color” that he would love to star in a homoerotic scene with Jacob Elordi, who plays Nate Jacobs.
“I don’t even know what that would look like, but I would love to do a scene with him,” Abrams said.
“I know, bad idea, but I want to see… I don’t even know what that interaction would be like. That would be such a strange interaction, especially after doing the play. I don’t know, I just wonder how he would react to my character,” she added.
In the penultimate episode of the second season, Ethan acted in Lexi’s (Maude Apatow) school play, where the characters soon realized it was based on their lives.
The series concluded with the homoerotic scene featuring Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out For a Hero,” which depicts Ethan, as Nate, aggressively working out in a locker room with other male students.
Throughout the first two seasons, it is implied that Nate is not straight at all.
In a 2019 interview with “The Wrap,” Elordi said that his character develops in terms of the plot of the series, so he can’t define Nate Jacobs’ sexuality with certainty.
Therefore, we will have to wait for a third season to learn more about the character and the limits of his sexuality.
