Spam

how much do you get in a day? For the last six months mine has been regularly 3 - 6 messages a day, always (really badly) trying to present themselves as a trusted brand or company. Any moron knows it isn't. I guess it isn't really hard to scrape emails but I find it annoying. I set so many filter rules it turns out I was blocking people I wanted to hear from and knew.

Is anybody else experiencing an uptick in spam? Any tricks (Mac) that help shut 'em down? They routinely have unsubscribe buttons but I assume that's just saying yep, you got a live one.

I get about 100 spam messages a day across three accounts. I've blocked plenty and requested I be removed from mailing lists, but it feels like for every spam message I dc, I get two new ones.

Cleaning up my inbox is like brushing my teeth - twice a day for about three or four minutes.

Why don’t you open up an alternative email account specifically for SPAM, OP?

Just like you’ve done here, on DL…

I get 50 or so a day - mostly from retailers like Bed Bath & Target, and every democrat running for national office. If you use Mail on the Mac tiny in spam filtering and mark things as spam for a few days - it filters out most of them. I also set up a smart mailbox called Crap - I the rules I paste the @xxxxx from senders email with rule “contains” and that filters the rest.
