Horrible. Poor Edie.

She was supposed to do a show one night at a theater I was involved in and she called frantic, couldn't remember how to get there. This was five years ago. Sad that this ended up happening to her.

Years ago someone on here posted a story about him and a friend writing a fan letter to Edie while drunk and included Polaroids of themselves shitfaced. Edie had a sense of humor about it and wrote them back and included the pictures they sent her with and wrote something on them like “sober up boys”.

She is such an underrated comedic talent. I loved her on David Letterman's morning show playing Mrs. Marv Mendenhall, who presented parodies of the cooking and homemaking segments usually found on morning TV. I hope things get better for her.

Is it just me or does she resemble Julie Brown from MTV? Not "Downtown" Julie Brown, but the comedienne.

Yeah there's been several posts here over the years indicating she wasn't the nicest person. Very disappointing because I love her in everything I've ever seen her in. She was diagnosed with dementia several years ago, and in those threads we had someone who insisted she was the meanest cunt in the world, but I chalked it up to the DLer who always posts contrarian stuff in every celebrity thread. If Julia Roberts is a cunt, he'll post that actually she's the nicest person ever. Everyone loves Dolly Parton? He'll post that she hates gays and is a far-right Republican Trump lover. It never fails. If someone had linked to old blinds or gossip items, that would have been one thing, but no one ever did, because there apparently isn't anything like that out there about McClurg.
