The Psychology of George Michael's Falling Out with David Geffen

Using Geffen's little black book could have saved George the public humiliation of being arrested in a public toilet. George had the money and could have easily afforded it. Why was he so opposed to Geffen's little black book?

I can make a few guesses.

George was a standard old fashioned gay cruising slut. He liked the entire event of going out cruising for sex in the usual places. He wasn't paying for sex, either. He may not have been super motivated by "beautiful escorts". Apparently he got with whomever the fuck had the vibe right there in the tea room or bushes.

It seems like George might have been cheap. Was he just offended by someone mentioning he might have to pay?

My friend wrote a book about David Geffen then he died at a very young age, suddenly. The book is called The Operator, good book.

My guess is just plain old self-loathing—i.e., despite being a slut, he didn't like having it acknowledged by others.

This is the equivalent of Jackie Onassis taking offence at being recommended a shop that sells sunglasses.

I think George liked the thrill of the chase and the unknown. The black-book escort thing would have been too planned and businesslike and safe. He didn't want to be safe, as much as he lectured on safe sex.

Also, when it came to sex, he was like a fast food addict. He liked it cheap and quick and often. Quantity, not quality.

Maybe George was a bit too paranoid and thought that the escorts would be loyal to Geffen and spy for him (sharing what he shares with him, telling Geffen what kind of sex he has with them, or even filming their encounters), providing Geffen with blackmail materal to control George? He just got away from Sony which must've been brutal and also dealing with a drug addiction.

tabloid thinking again, this time from a tabloid article. These men had a lot going on. To pinpoint a specific (and salacious) incident that doesn't seem like a big deal probably was not a big deal. its just a way for an article to get clicks.

Maybe George was coming onto David and David offered him the little black book instead as a hint.

Wasn't George just into mastrubating in public toilets? That's not the sort of thing you want to pay for when you're doing all the work.

Geffen's book was full of bottoms. All he could do with them is bump bussies.
