It started when Flagg took exception when he said, "My second show was a success, after all it made Fannie Flagg a household name." Then Fannie, enraged by the suggestion he made her a star,, got even more mad after Van Dyke made the following apology...

I only just found out that Fannie and Susan Flannery lived together for eight years circa the '70s. And Rita Mae Brown was in there in some capacity for awhile, too.
