I'm trying to find the '90s video, a DL favorite set in a Southern library, where the words, "Why I Never" - or words to that effect - are uttered in the context of this new internet thing.

R63, that was strangely disturbing. That child was like a mini Meatloaf. Did it grow up to be a serial killer?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | September 8, 2022 2:31 AM |
This one. Everything about this is perfection, the grainy footage, the cruel humor towards the elderly and death, the short and sweetness of it, the slow motion, the man in the wig, the fact that its 13 years old, so an authentic youtube classic: Behold:

I couldn’t find it on YouTube, but this is one of my all-time favorites. Just a woman singing and dissing Trump at the same time. I can watch it over and over and over and never get tired of it.

R106, that video was very disturbing. Filming the boy, laughing at him and threatening to put the video on YouTube? Disgusting behaviour by adults. He’s a child despite his behaviour.

This song is a fun favorite. I actually remember how popular it was when it came out. There are a couple different versions available on YT even the original black and white one. I believe this duo were a one hit wonder, in the States anyway, but they sure did get a lot of mileage out of this one song at the time.

Not as famous as her ‘88 Carmen program, but a technically more difficult program (her first & last triple Loop/Rittberger), with which she regained her World Title. Skating in Cincinnati, last in the group of 8 (immediately after Debi Thomas skated the performance of her life), Katarina gives the performance of her life, & gets a standing ovation to boot.

This video isn't entertaining. It's more interesting and sobering. I didn't know that the radiation which escaped from the Chernobyl nuclear reactor contaminated quite a bit of land in Belarus because of the wind at the time. The channel's host, a Brit called Benjamin Rich, is visiting the contaminated zone when he comes across a character named Kolya, who has a fondness for vodka. It's really sobering to see the way Kolya lives, alone in a dilapidated farmhouse with no electricity.
I did chuckle when Kolya tells Ben, "Shut up, young man, and don't shout. We're going to visit the cemetery."
The village where Kolya lives is Sinitsino. Unfortunately, google street view isn't available there.
