I had a fucking gun nut living across the street a few years ago. Watched him move out for a bit - I stopped counting at 42 rifles or long guns. No idea concerning the number of hand guns. Perhaps he was sent... 🤔

People collect all kinds of things. Why is it such a shock to some people that there are individuals who collect guns?

Remember, you can only shoot one gun at a time with accuracy. 🙄

The gun industry markets guns like tobacco did for cigarettes. They create an image that seduces people...power, sex, etc.

If you talk to a gun nut long enough, they'll tell you their gun fantasy. They all have them. It used to be "blow away a thug home invader". The more guns (and ammo) they buy, the more excited they get to use them in real life. Their fantasies have escalated to civil war and race wars. They have literally spent their retirement funds on guns. They can't wait to kill someone.

I grew up with friends, family members and neighbors who had hunting rifles. Didn't know anyone with any AK 47s or other automatic weapons. I didn't see a correlation to guns and small penises. I think we say that to ridicule gun toters into seeing themselves as less manly or something. I know plenty of guys with guns and a BIG gun. My whole family of male cousins and their dad for instance. Too bad I don't share their endowment though.

The “small penis” thing is reductive and typical neo-prog trash talk. And yes the type of person who hunts to bring game home is basically never the person who goes on a shooting rampage (maybe with the occasional exception).

The responsible gun owners are largely the ones who keep guns so easy to buy, though. That’s because they’re sold a bill of goods by the firearms industry that any tightened restrictions are a “slippery slope” and the next step is all guns being confiscated, even your deer rifle you’re extremely careful with and would never dream of pointing at a person in anger.
