Memories. In the mid 80s for a time, I'd often see Betty Furness on the same crosstown M50 bus I was on. I believe she was heading home at the end of the work day from her WNBC consumer advocacy reporter job. I believe she got on next to Rock Center @ 6th Ave. I'd get on a block further east (betw 5th and Madison) her signature coif. I loved her look especially her unique coif topped with a dark felt hairband.

Betty's outfits were divine. I loved and remembered seeing her on the "Today" show weekday mornings up through just a few decades ago. I could see that Vivian sure liked using those cue cards in the kitchen-set portion of that segment, even though it was filmed. I like some of the other ones they all did for Westinghouse, too, where they all (including Bill and Viv) appear as their real-life selves.

r3 this was probably filmed when Vivian was going through her divorce. One of the ILL directors (I forgot which one) said she had mental problems when Phil left. You would try to talk to her and she'd just stare into space. She struggled with her lines too. Given that this commercial was the last thing she wanted to be doing, I can see why she couldn't be bothered.
