Is it Ok to wear a yarmulke if you’re not Jewish? It covers my bald patch.

The one I snatched off my friend is pretty too look at too!

a variety of religions have head coverings for men. And many believe they were specifically deisgned for where most men's hair starts thinning. Early medicine believed it needed to be protected/covered to regulate body temperature, especially during illness.

But you do risk being targeted for harassment and physical assaults.

If you enjoy djing... then look into breslov jews, nachman. learning some basics should also keep those that may assume you are one or accuse you of appropriation off your back.

no need dear, we can always tell where your bald spot is

by Anonymousreply 3June 29, 2022 6:13 PM

Are you sure it’s big enough?

My grandfather had a very discreet blue and silver sequined yarmulke; I'd recommend something similarly Elvis-in-Vegas.

This is the part where I admit I think yarmulkes are kind of sexy (on an already cute guy, of course). But as I'm not Jewish, I personally have no reason to sport one...unless I attend a wedding or other event where they're required/requested.

So balding or not, I wouldn't recommend it. There are plenty of other options, and hats are a lot of fun! The Phrygian Cap is a personal favorite. You may remind people of a Smurf, and it's a bit more substantial, but it's very distinct and speaks to both antiquity and the revolutionary spirit. It can also be made of any material, and stylized almost endlessly. You could have an entire collection, OP! Consider the possibilities!

Try a boater! Smart and snappy for summer and you don't have to convert.

You could become a Shriner. They look like fun guys.
