I know this thread is tongue-in-cheek, but ...
I've watched a lot of true crime over the years. (I like to binge watch reruns of shows like Forensic Files while I clean and do other chores.)
Several years ago, I settled in for an afternoon of Cold Case Files. And the episode featured murderer Theresa Knorr.
I don't think I've ever been so disturbed by a true crime show. This woman tortured two of her teenage daughters to death in separate incidents (she starved one in a closet until she died of malnutrition/dehydration; the other, she shot, handcuffed in a bathtub for a week, tried to extract the bullet with an Xacto knife -- she went into shock -- and then finally dumped her by the side of the road, still alive, but barely, doused her in gasoline, lit her on fire, and drove away.) She used her other children in the commission of these acts.
One of the worst details: when police found the daughter's charred body, they couldn't make an ID. They speculated, though, that she may have been a young mother, as they also found diapers strewn about. What they didn't know is that Theresa Knorr had abused her daughter so badly that she'd become incontinent.
I was very depressed after watching that. I went outside and took a very long walk -- thankfully, it was a sunny afternoon -- and tried to remind myself that there is plenty of joy and compassion in this world.

That Aunt Diane sure was batshit, wasn't she? Modern day version of Maedea she was. Couldn't just get a divorce or anything. I shudder to think what went through those children's minds in that van. Did she say anything? Jesus Christ. I vaguely recall the documentary but only saw it the once since I actually like children well enough.
R8 That's an utmost evil freak there. Sociopathic doesn't even begin to describe it. Good for you for taking a long walk after watching that I do dare say.
Mia Farrow is odd. She went overboard with all those kids. She would have been better off having a few kids in whatever way (maybe a small mix of adopted kids as well as biological) and then perhaps just volunteering at an orphanage or the Boys and Girls Club. I dunno. She's odd but Woody Allen is still married to his "common law esque" adopted daughter and could very well have molested his legit adopted daughter. Woody was always photographed with Dylan back in the day, just always and she would look miserable.

Peggy Bundy: Bud, was I a good mother?
Bud Bundy: You must have been. I was the only 8 month old baby who knew how to change his own diaper.

My mother, a bipolar-borderline combo. Super violent. I ran away at 16 and basically hid until she died when I was 27. Gavin de Becker’s “The Gift of Fear” is a good book.

OP, your mom was the worst mother. She should have aborted you.

There are no bad mothers. Only bad children.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 29, 2022 8:44 PM |
Those Hart women. The ones who drove their car full of tortured and emaciated adopted children of color off a cliff in Oregon. I will never forget those poor children. I (and some others) did a deep dive on what they did to the kids while they were alive and it still makes my blood boil. And the worst part is that everyone thought they were so wonderful.
