Democrats are criticized and demonized for never doing enough. Republicans are lauded and proclaimed heroes for doing the bare minimum. The coup d'etat attempt didn't start on Jan 6th and it didn't end of Jan 6th. The laws being passed by Republicans are an essential part of the ongoing coup. Cheney and Kinzinger support that part of the coup. They are not heroes.

This is not about purity. This is about the fundamental principles of democracy. You support democracy, but you don't support the right to vote? Really? You want to address your party's attempt to overthrow the government, but only the part that already took place. Not the ongoing part that will allow your party to steal more elections.
What's idiotic? The notion that Cheney and Kinzinger are heroes because they've done the bare minimum and told the obvious truth. Truth that we all witnessed with out own eyes. Being a little less terrible, a little less dishonest than the rest of their party does not by any stretch of the imagination make them heroes. The bar is set so low for Republicans. Subtly (rather than overtly) destroying democracy makes them a hero.
Having said that. Typing in all caps and complaining about "screeching" is probably (definitely) projection.

You’re wrong on your timing. The political ecosystem is a living thing, and when we get a few GOP’s who help keep the ecosystem alive, we need to encourage the positive behavior. You fail to get it. I know for a fact you have zero EQ based on how you’re arguing with that poster. If we all took a position like yours, then ***nothing*** could move toward charging Trump criminally. Politics = compromise. Period, end-of. Go read a book on negotiations, then come back. I’ve been bitch-slapped here myself several times, I know it stings, but I’ve learned it is best to learn to admit that you MIGHT be wrong. I’m wrong more than I’m right, and I’m fucking 50.
Admit you’re wrong and then the vultures will not pick at your carcass here. Fail to be humble? You’ve been warned; proceed at your own risk.

R81 you're responding to multiple posters there and acting like they're the same one. Not sure what your point is.
You don't have to agree with their politics, or call them heroes. But in this they are doing things that benefit Democrats and going against their party, and it's silly to continue to attack them just because you disagree with them on other things. Compromise is how politics function. The one-party rule, everything is my way or no way, is what happens when the parties are not functioning.
You may feel righteous, but you're just unreasonable.

[quote] [R81] you're responding to multiple posters there and acting like they're the same one. Not sure what your point is. You don't have to agree with their politics, or call them heroes. 1. I addressed 3 people who made the same idiotic argument. No I don't need to address them each individually.
2. Its clear that you don't understand my point and therefore you cannot adequately respond to it.
3. Suppressing democratic voters and nullifying elections (including this current case before the supreme court) is your idea of a "compromise" that promotes democracy. To clarify, you're arguing that Democrats need to compromise on whether or not Democratic voters have access to the ballot and whether or not their votes are counted. In order to avoid "one-party rule."
Cheney and Kinzinger told the truth about the 2020 election. They don't support the lie. They do support the 400+ Republican voter suppression and election nullification laws based upon the lie. Democrats are supposed to accept their embrace of those laws and all of the future losses that they will bring, as a valid "compromise." You're arguing that Democrats should hand Republicans future elections; if they simply tell the truth about the 2020 election. That's your solution for combatting "one party rule." You believe that = reasonable.
4. Free and fair elections are an essential part of democracy. The US Constitution guarantees us the right to vote and the right to have our votes counted. If this is not about democracy and our fundamental Constitutional rights. What is this about?

Though I appreciate the confirmation, the fact that Adam was gay was clear even before those photos leaked. He passed his 30s single and palling around the country with Aaron Schock, of all people. And they weren't just friendly, they were a duo who went everywhere together. Walks like a duck, quacks like duck, etc. However, the clarity of the situation was obscured by halfwits like r78 and some others on this thread, who complain that every hot white guy supposedly gets tagged as gay on Datalounge, but who adopt the mirror image of this attitude, acting like no hot white guy can be gay unless he explicitly says so no matter the evidence they see. And I think nowadays they outnumber the people they bitch about.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | July 11, 2022 12:14 AM |
R89 see, this is why you combining them into one post makes no sense. You aren't saying anything amazing or profound, so yes, I understood what you were saying and it didn't apply to me, or the other posters, hence my confusion over it as it was pulled out of nowhere.
I didn't say any of those things. You are projecting a whole slew of nonsense on me and responding to the nonsense, and the other two quotes are from one or two other posters who didn't say them either, not that I could see. I'd call it a strawman argument but I think you are genuinely confused as you have one focus (election suppression) and thus think anyone disagreeing with your general admonishment of Republicans who are currently helping Democrats means they are somehow agreeing with election suppression done by the Republicans.
I don't think anyone has said that, or thinks it.
No one is saying these Republicans are totally different from others. What we are saying is they are helping us currently. We are all aware of what they are like, otherwise. Therefore the fact that some people say good things about them in this limited instance does not mean you have to then always counter that with everything you don't like about Republicans. It's tiresome and pointless.
Relax.

MIND YOU, this is the same crowd that accused Hilary Clinton of a child pedophile ring in the back of a goddamn Pizza Hut. Oh, I also believe they accused her of eating babies.

going by the responses in this thread... most would like to join those in sending the death threats.
wake me when y'all take up swords and go highlander'ish.
there can be only one

Odds that Kinzinger and Schock hooked up when the latter was in Congress? Congressional FWBs?
by Anonymous | reply 102 | July 11, 2022 7:53 PM |
Regardless of whether Kinzinger is bearded up or not, the death threats against his family and him are appalling. It takes just one MAGA-Proud Boy crazy to do something terrible.

r103 these days they seem more apt to provoke others into doing something. The group that has taken in Andy Dick does just this.. they rove around in rvs, targeting minorities and attempt to provoke them into violence through means such as wandering in predominately black neighbors playing racist music full blast in the middle of the night, offering food with feces to homeless, disrupting community events (harassing street vendors, info tables, messing up sidewalk art), tasering or pepper spraying random individuals, screaming slurs at people and then running to the cops and playing victim all the while streaming it live. They routinely make the news and yet neither the authorities or media appears to make the connection as they focus primarily on the elderly, disabled, addicts, the homeless and people, always visible minorities from poc to haredi jews, more prone to react to slurs and derogatory comments in the moment than wait for authorities... but of course, they're quite aggressive as they're specifically looking for that reaction. We used to fear big brother but now it's becoming necessary for us to wear body cameras everytime we go out... let someone else do it and edit the results.

^ one of collectives members was the one they called "Baked Alaska" of patriot prayer, I believe.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | July 11, 2022 8:24 PM |
WAIT, wait, wait...R104 The group that has taken in Andy Dick? The actual FUCK?
by Anonymous | reply 106 | July 12, 2022 12:11 PM |
r106 It's a well known collective in online circles but saying the name of the i p 2 network tends to attract them or the farms, they're the most attention whoring and operate through public social media and video sharing sites. no amount of bans ever fully stop them. But there's many such groups, far left equivalents too and they tend to promote each other's stupidity more than actually fight one another.
Anyway, they took in Andy Dick a while back, they were in the headlines then as one of their members claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Andy Dick while dick would suggest he was setup so they could steal his cocaine. Although it would be dropped because the victim refused to cooperate with authorities. Dick would move to someone in the larger collective but separate to that one.
But the group and the alleged victim would make the news again, the vic, by kicking some brown girls on a beach that had asked their group (drunk, fully dressed and acting creepy) to stop filming them and to which they responded with slurs as one of their members, a girl, would lunge at them. . . a fight would break out, also getting in the news, and the targets of that "stunt" would be charged by law enforcement.
their audience is primarily the far right types. Clips of their streams tend to make both the blaxploitation video sharing hosts and far right social media.. There's a couple watchdogs but most end up swatted, doxxed, harassed, so they don't last long. You can find details on reddit.

R107 Hunh, well I can see the Andy Dick coke connection but the rest does sound like a Redditor's wet dream.

Daddy Kinz voted for gay marriage tonight
by Anonymous | reply 109 | July 19, 2022 11:29 PM |
^ So did Liz Cheney. But not, among most other Republicans, Jim Jordan, Madison Cawthorne & MTG.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | July 20, 2022 12:31 AM |
Since the House bill covered interracial marriages, how would a Rep. Clarence Thomas voted?!

Don't know about Thomas, R111. But Adam...

She may have been born there; a search of online records suggests she obtained a social security number in Florida when she was a young child.

Everyone in public life, especially politicians, get multiple death threats. It's horrible, but it's a fact of life.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | July 20, 2022 10:17 AM |
I'll allow it, r113.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | July 20, 2022 11:27 AM |

He's adorable. But has that one thing. His strike is the whole Republican thing. He seems like he would be a good husband (gay or straight), a thoughtful lover (like he would wanna get you off too) and ambitious enough to always have movement on a career. Not a fucking loser. I think he's shipping Independent.
