I’m confused. What is he “clarifying”? And why all these years later?

FWIW, in the mid 1990’s, prior to Titanic, a gay friend of mine in SF who was an aspiring actor, told me that Leo showed up with a male date at a party he attended (for mostly gay men). At that time, I considered Leo to be in the art film sector of the industry. I remember being surprised when he was slated to star in Titanic.

Back in the 90s, the local gay mag, the Bay Area Reporter, ran a blind item outing him.

Leo's reputation with much younger women is more damaging to his reputation than if he came out as gay.

There's a British footballer called Ashley Cole who has been surrounded by gay rumours for years. He's an absolute dog and fucked so many women and treated like them shit.
