What is your favorite cookie?

I am craving a Black and White cookie so bad right now.

by Anonymousreply 55June 14, 2022 10:58 AM

Those are all disgusting cookies. I will only take biscotti or macaroons.

by Anonymousreply 1June 12, 2022 5:19 PM

I don't have favorites, I love them all.

by Anonymousreply 2June 12, 2022 5:20 PM

e) All of the above

by Anonymousreply 3June 12, 2022 5:21 PM

I hate biscotti and not too crazy about macaroons. Both are for the pretentious.

by Anonymousreply 4June 12, 2022 5:22 PM

R2, YTF.

by Anonymousreply 5June 12, 2022 5:22 PM

White chocolate macadamia...

Store bought: Pepperidge Farm Chessmen, Tate's Chocolate Chip, Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Milk Chocolate biscuit, Lu Pim Raspberry Filled.

I like Italian Rainbow cookies and pignoli cookies for homemade and various other type of Italian cookies from Italian bakeries.

by Anonymousreply 8June 12, 2022 5:28 PM

I will blow the first poster who overnight ships me a black & white cookie from William Greenberg.

by Anonymousreply 9June 12, 2022 5:32 PM

Macrons. Peanut butter & Jelly and matcha are my favorites.

by Anonymousreply 10June 12, 2022 5:33 PM

Peanut butter. Brown, smooth and easy to spread!

by Anonymousreply 11June 12, 2022 5:35 PM

Chocolate chip is probably my favorite, but I hear you OP, I do love a B&W cookie. I like the big, cakey ones that you get at a Jewish deli. There is a bagel shop near my place that has them, but it's hit or miss as to whether they are sold out or now. Now that you've said something, I have a craving. I haven't tried the mini ones in a container that are at Trader Joes. I would eat the whole thing if I bought them. Any fat whores care to comment on whether the TJ minis are any good?

by Anonymousreply 12June 12, 2022 5:43 PM

I remember being so disappointed when I first had a B&W cookie. I just assumed the black side was chocolate.

by Anonymousreply 13June 12, 2022 5:45 PM

[quote] I just assumed the black side was chocolate.

Is it not? Everyone that I have had is chocolate and vanilla. Or at least it tasted like chocolate. What is it then?

by Anonymousreply 14June 12, 2022 5:49 PM

R14 Maybe the one I had was just bad. It was from some crappy looking little shop. I never tried another one. Theirs just tasted like regular fondant with no real flavor.

by Anonymousreply 15June 12, 2022 5:51 PM

I don't know about favorite cookies, but this is my favorite thread!

by Anonymousreply 16June 12, 2022 6:07 PM

Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls R16. They are so fucking good, especially refrigerated.

by Anonymousreply 17June 12, 2022 7:29 PM

I don't think Swiss Cake Rolls qualify as cookies.

by Anonymousreply 18June 13, 2022 2:52 AM

My favorite cookie is the Mexican Wedding Cookie. They are truly divine, if made well.

I made these cookies this past Easter and a couple more times since. Easy and delicious.

Biscuits is too fucking dry. Desiccated. How can anyone find chocolate chip cookies disgusting?

by Anonymousreply 24June 13, 2022 3:30 AM

Biscotti....fucking phone!

by Anonymousreply 25June 13, 2022 3:30 AM

Butter, sugar, flour, salt. A well made shortbread cookie is perfection.

by Anonymousreply 26June 13, 2022 3:33 AM

Macarons are lovely to look at but I'm always disappointed in their flavor.

by Anonymousreply 27June 13, 2022 3:33 AM

Overall favorite is shortbread cookie, followed closely by oatmeal raisin.

by Anonymousreply 28June 13, 2022 3:34 AM

Molasses cookies sprinkled with coarse sugar.

by Anonymousreply 29June 13, 2022 3:35 AM

I love macarons (the ones that look like colorful, puffy Oreos), which are different from macaroons (mound of coconut, also good).

Well-made chocolate chip cookies, I love, crispy, but not hard.

For store-bought, I like the Biscoff / airline cookies.

Well-made shortbread cookies (must have some salt) are also good.

by Anonymousreply 30June 13, 2022 3:37 AM

A Mrs. Fields Milk Chocolate Macadamia Cookie fresh out of the oven at Bloomingdales ca. 1995- the BEST cookie I ever had.

by Anonymousreply 31June 13, 2022 3:44 AM

OP- I was at my Whole Foods on Saturday. They had fairly large trays of them for sale- made in store.

by Anonymousreply 32June 13, 2022 3:46 AM

Midel Ginger Snaps are pretty good for store bought cookie.

by Anonymousreply 33June 13, 2022 4:10 AM

Snickerndoodle

by Anonymousreply 34June 13, 2022 4:32 AM

Whatever is hot out of the often, undercooked, and gooiest. But I vote for white chocolate macadamia.

by Anonymousreply 35June 13, 2022 7:29 AM

Biscotti are indeed very dry. They're supposed to be. They're double baked. They're made for dunking.

by Anonymousreply 36June 13, 2022 12:00 PM

Cookies with frostingā€¦.mmmm.

Wegmans has them sometimes. Never seen them anywhere else.

by Anonymousreply 37June 13, 2022 12:47 PM

Snickerdoodle! I just love the cute word!

by Anonymousreply 38June 13, 2022 1:03 PM

I'm not a huge biscuit fan, but here in Australia you can get these Hundreds and Thousands biscuits, covered in pink icing and, well, hundreds and thousands. I can't control myself if there's a packet around, and there usually is when my dad buys them for my nephews. They barely get a look in. Even with the gluten in them I have to eat them.

Cucidati (Sicilian fig cookies) and pignoli are probably my favorites, but they've gotten hard to find nearby. Pignoli are easy to make, but good pine nuts have become so expensive.

by Anonymousreply 42June 13, 2022 3:15 PM

Used to be Vienna Fingers until those FUCKING elves went and ruined them.

by Anonymousreply 43June 13, 2022 3:17 PM

Also love black & whites. The minis at Trader Joe's are quite good, and good for when one of the biggies is too much. Note to OP: Haagen Daz (sp?) ice cream now has a black & white version out in stores. Not sure if this translates well to ice cream, but check it out.

by Anonymousreply 44June 13, 2022 3:35 PM

Not a fan of the black & whites. Outside of Jewish rye bread and some rugelach, I was introduced to American Jewish food ways in my freshman year of college when I stayed at a friend's family home. By and large it was a weekend of oversold foods. "You've never had X! You will love it and your life will be changed forever!"

Black and whites were okay, now and again, when freshly available from the right place. But they were never more than "good", or "nice."

A freshly baked, quality chocolate chip cookie with good chocolate and a hint of salt can be an extraordinary pleasure. A good oatmeal raisin a delight. A linzer cookie with the best ingredients. A lot of cookies can, in the right setting and mood be a great treat. But for me, the best black and white is just good.

by Anonymousreply 45June 13, 2022 4:26 PM

For store-bought: Mother's English Tea, Mother's Taffy, Archway Cashew Nougat cookies.

by Anonymousreply 46June 13, 2022 6:02 PM

Those black and white's just look like a butter cookie with royal icing. That's the nastiest besides fondant.

by Anonymousreply 47June 13, 2022 6:09 PM

For a mass marketed cookie Milanos fucking rock.

by Anonymousreply 48June 13, 2022 6:10 PM

My bodega used to sell these delicious oatmeal raisin cookies with macadamia nuts. Made with palm oil and totally bad for you, but man were they šŸ¤¤. When the store got new owners, they stopped selling them. I took to my bed for a week.

by Anonymousreply 49June 13, 2022 6:23 PM

Abernethy biscuits.

by Anonymousreply 50June 13, 2022 6:50 PM

I thought I hated biscotti, too. But my coworker gave me some of those Nonni's biscotti (partially dipped in chocolate) from Costco. Pretty good and you don't have to dip it in a beverage.
