Jones' character was the bio mom and she dies in the movie. The rest of the movie was basically her homophobic family fighting Shields for custody of the child.

The one episode of Arthur Hailey's Hotel that I remember is "Rallying Cry" (1985), where Douglas Barr (The Fall Guy co-star who I had a HUGE crush on) plays a doctor who had once been married and had a child, but now is in a relationship with another man (Michael Sabatino) in San Francisco. As someone who doesn't watch a lot of movies and knows even less about the current Broadway scene, Luke Evans is the only one of those two I'd heard of—from The Hobbit (and occasional threads about him here). I would guess that's the case with most movie audiences, but maybe I'm wrong.

Neither particularly impressed me, though Evans was pretty good as Gaston, and he does have a great body.
