Glen Powell, *STAR* of Top Gun: Maverick

Cute, sexy, I'd break him in, he was pleasant on CBS mornings last week...

I saw this today and my God is he stunning on screen. His body is perfection.

Interestingly, Hollywood usually doesn’t make stars out of guys like this—they usually have to be good looking with a side of quirkiness. Let’s see how he does

I'd do him in a heartbeat--he has a fantastic body. But the camera just doesn't love his face, for some reason. I don't think he's going to make it bigger than he has. He was the handsome decent boyfriend Lily James decides she doesn't really want (ie. the Ralph Bellamy role) in "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society," and that's basically the kind of role I think he's going to be saddled with.

Both he and Miles Teller have squinty eyes, but for some reason the camera catches the light in Teller's eyes--it doesn't in his. Which is too bad because he's a fine comic actor and he's not at all the douche that Teller is.

He might not end up becoming an A-list star, but he’s incredibly hot while still seeming funny and charming. And while he did have the Ralph Bellamy role in that Guernsey Potato movie, he was a more than capable rom-com lead in Set It Up.

So even if he’s not going to be the next Tom Cruise, I don’t think he’s going to end up on a basic cable procedural any time soon. He basically plays the Val Kilmer role among the recruits, and I don’t think that level of a career is out of the question (and he’s not going to out-crazy Brando like Kilmer did, which means his prospects might be even better).

His eyes are too small

I remember after seeing “Everybody Wants Some” I came here posting he’d get an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

I think that had Top Gun kept its original release date, Glenn’s career would’ve continued to gain momentum. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to be getting too much of a bump in popularity since his role is relatively small.

He’s so average looking

COVID ruined his career momentum, he would have built on Set It Up with Top Gun, but instead he was put on ice for a few years. I think he had the charisma to do it, but he might have missed his window.

Hollywood doesn't make "stars" anymore, anyway.

He reminds me of Armie Hammer with his desperation. I used to like him but he’s become annoying.

And his eyes are simply too small to register emotion on screen. Real stars have gigantic Disney eyes like this. When Hollywood tries to make small-eyed men into stars, it doesn’t work. Look at Joel Edgerton.

Glen was hilarious in Scream Queens and i liked Set It Up. I remember him getting alot of positive reviews for Everybody Wants Some, but no one really stood out to me in that movie.

Blake Jenner was hot, but Glenn and Zoey Deutch stole the movie (and made a great pairing in Set It Up).

Since we're all agreed the big problem is his squinty eyes, he could do what Clint Eastwood did and make a career playing antiheroes or morally neutral guys. He basically plays something like that in "Top Gun" and did in every movie where he's been memorable (like "Everybody Does It!!"--he played an egocentric player who was not the lead).

Glen Powell has clearly been spending a lot of time in the gym, as we can see from these hot new shirtless photos!

The 34-year-old actor bared his ripped body while filming a beach scene for his upcoming romantic comedy movie on Monday (March 6) in Sydney, Australia.

Glen was joined by co-stars Sydney Sweeney, Alexandra Shipp, Hadley Robinson, and one unidentified actress while taking a dip in the water. All the ladies were seen in their bikinis for the warm day in the sun.

Not much is known about the movie other than it being an R-rated comedy, which will be directed by Easy A’s Will Gluck. “So excited for this one,” Glen wrote on Instagram while announcing the project.

Glen is best known for his work in movies like Top Gun: Maverick, Devotion, Set It Up, and Hidden Figures, as well as the TV series Scream Queens.
