She pissed off Faye Dunaway on Supergirl and was doomed for life.

I wish real life in America were like the ending to The Legend of Billie Jean. One of the biggest "fuck you's!" to capitalism I've ever seen in a movie. Very on-the-nose and cheesy, but I love it.

She was good in Ruthless People and her guest spot on Seinfeld.

I think she would have done well with her own sit-com and a strong cast like Spin City.

That said, people often blame SUPERGIRL (1984) for ruining her film career, but she had several hits afterward. RUTHLESS PEOPLE, THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS, and CITY SLICKERS were all smash hits. SECRET was even the 7th highest-grossing movie of 1987..

She was too busy being in a throuple with Helen Hunt and Hank Azaria to concentrate on her career.

At one point, they just stopped making Helen Slater movies.

She’s the best Supergirl and had a fabulous head of hair before she had to chop it off for Billie Jean.

On YouTube, there's an interview she did with Jon Tenney while they were promoting Lassie (1994). She's giving him the cold shoulder and shooting daggers at him. It's almost scary. I wonder if something went on there? He does seem a bit douchey.
