It's a violation of federal law to use campaign contributions to purchase a car.

The only exception - and it's a THIN one - is the purchase of a vehicle for campaign usage, with ample documentation that the vehicle is registered to a campaign organization and not the candidate, and that mileage/usage by the candidate is only at a "de minimis" rate. The burden of proof and documentation is on the campaign/candidate to demonstrate that they have obeyed the law.

Trump blatantly broke ALL campaign funds laws and also all laws about emoluments as a public official and US President.

There is ZERO accountability now for anything. Many democrats are dirty as fuck, as well. Senators with their Stock Trading - on both sides of the aisle.

While I was researching the law on this, I also read that candidates are allowed to draw a salary from campaign funds that is "equal to the salary of the office being sought."

This explains why people like Nina Turner and Josh Mandel keep running for office and losing. They're able to suck up a salary of over $170k without having to do any of the actual work of legislating.
