Bette Davis's Daughter Margot is DEAD TO ME!
We are sadden to announce that Margot Merrill, daughter of Bette Davis and Gary Merrill, passed away peacefully in Boston on Thursday. She was an incredible and special woman, with an engaging sense of humor and contagious laugh. We appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we grieve the loss of our sister and aunt. - The Merrill Family
So let's talk about how fuckable Gary Merrill was. THAT HAIRY CHEST! She knew how to pick 'em. I'm looking at YOU William Grant Sherry!

Exactly, r3. B.D. was the special needs case there. And she had so many of them!

Is there still “a Merrill Family”?

Her son Christopher runs he estate R5. He actually seems like a pretty great guy considering a nutso upbringing.

It wasn't *that* nutso, r6.

OP, please provide a link, regarding Margot’s death.
R6, Bette Davis’s son is Michael Merrill. Joan Crawford's son was Christopher Crawford.

The picture at R1 was flagged on Imgur for being "erotic". I'll say!

There was definitely something about Gary Merrill that was very hot.
Bette's son is quite a nice person. He lucked out not being blood related to BD.

Bette Davis divided her estate between her Michael and her loyal assistant Kathryn Sermak. She disinherited her daughter B.D. Hyman and her grandsons. (B.D’s children.). Margot was disinherited, however, she was well taken care of, financially, during her lifetime. I assume Michael was Margot’s guardian.
Bette Davis took comfort that her son considered her a good mother. He stood by her after B.D.’s vicious book was published.

Gary Merrill had big dick face for sure. When he threw Bette down on that bed in All About Eve and held her down……..my mussy still gets wet.

I loved old movies when I was a kid. Even before I knew I was gay, I loved All About Eve (watched it a bunch of times and still know the whole thing by heart) and had a strong reaction to Gary Merrill in particular.

That book she wrote with her assistant was bizarre. Sniffing out Stouffer's meals from housekeepers they interviewed, she sounded quite insane.

BD has been ill lately but is doing better I’m told.

Her time will come soon enough, R21. She just turned 75. And I'm not sure what her quality of life is now, either. But she has a small Youtube channel, and sounds exactly the same as she always did.

Bette’s third and fourth husbands were very handsome. They were William Grant Sherry and Gary Merrill.
Her first husband, Harmon Nelson was handsome, in a nerdy way. Her third husband, Arthur Farnsworth, wasn’t handsome, or even attractive, in my opinion. He died and left Bette a widow. Their marriage was on the rocks, at that time.
Here’s Arthur Farnsworth:

I found Bette's insistence that her second marriage would have lasted had her husband not died unconvincing - given that all three of her marriages where the husband DIDN'T die ended in divorce.

Does anyone know why Bette disinherited Margo? that seems awfully cruel. even for Bette.

It seems to have been a legal maneuver because Margot couldn't manage money or an estate, so money for her was given to Michael instead, and it sounds like he held up his end of the bargain very well.

After Bette Davis and Gary Merrill adopted Margot, they discovered she was mentally retarded. Bette’s vapid, selfish mother told her to return the child to the adoption agency. Bette refused. Since she had the money, she could give Margot a much better life. It’s a tribute to Bette’s and Gary’s characters that they did so. They loved Margot.

Bette Davis tried in her own way to stay the course with Margot. When it became readily apparent that she had special needs Bette Davis found her good care as well as a decently run care home/school of sorts. She visited, had her over throughout the years, and had Michael take charge of her later on. If you consider the era that was quite progressive.
R39 That's a smart move. I have nothing but respect for Bette Davis with that.
She could have "rehomed" Margot to an oversees adoption agency and claimed to the press that she passed away. But, instead she stayed the course. There were a lot of shady adoptions back in those days. That Margot could very well have had a bit of a lack of oxygen at birth or something the poor dear.
