I have a feeling Polly Holliday is not long for this world

From her IMDb

[quote]In March 2022, she announced that she would no longer honor requests for autographs both per snail mail and in person due in part to her age.

by Anonymousreply 41May 3, 2022 11:08 PM

Kiss my grits, OP!

by Anonymousreply 1May 3, 2022 12:04 PM

Who is mailing autograph requests to her in the year of Our Lord Daniel, 2022?

by Anonymousreply 2May 3, 2022 12:21 PM

Who??

by Anonymousreply 3May 3, 2022 12:31 PM

Yes, who?

by Anonymousreply 4May 3, 2022 12:45 PM

Isn't she dead? That could be why, OP.

by Anonymousreply 5May 3, 2022 12:52 PM

Still jealous of being upstaged on your own show, Linda @R4?

Please try to restrain yourself and not do a casket dance at Polly's funeral.

by Anonymousreply 6May 3, 2022 12:57 PM

She played Flo on ‘70s sitcom Alice.

Mandela effect

by Anonymousreply 8May 3, 2022 1:14 PM

Sooooo….sweeeEEEEETTTTT! 🎶

by Anonymousreply 9May 3, 2022 1:31 PM

Rose was a real cunt for not moving back home to help take care of her.

by Anonymousreply 10May 3, 2022 1:35 PM

An 84 year old woman not long for this world? You must be a psychic, Rose!

by Anonymousreply 11May 3, 2022 1:38 PM

Florence Jean Castleberry.

by Anonymousreply 12May 3, 2022 1:40 PM

La Lavin still seems zesty though

by Anonymousreply 13May 3, 2022 1:48 PM

She should avoid the color brown.

by Anonymousreply 14May 3, 2022 2:31 PM

I don't know her.

by Anonymousreply 15May 3, 2022 2:34 PM

Fwiw Phil McKeon’s death thread was a hidden DL gem.

Hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 16May 3, 2022 2:50 PM

Although the demand can't be that high at this stage, she is entitled to be done with that shit.

by Anonymousreply 17May 3, 2022 2:55 PM

What a pity for Polly. Pity Polly. Meanwhile, watch *me* on my hit sitcom, B Positive! I'm still going strong!!!!! BOBBETY BOP! 🎶🎶🎶

by Anonymousreply 18May 3, 2022 2:59 PM

Linda @R18: surely someone of your advanced age would know that your "hit" sitcom by today's standards would have been shitcanned 40 years ago because of anemic ratings.

by Anonymousreply 19May 3, 2022 3:22 PM

I only know her as the old bitch neighbour in Mrs Doubtfire, she seemed 84 then, almost 30 years ago

by Anonymousreply 20May 3, 2022 3:26 PM

Yes, Gloria Chaney.

by Anonymousreply 21May 3, 2022 4:03 PM

Oh, her IMDb said she switched her registration from Dem to Republican in 2019!

Unkissed Grits: My Story

by Anonymousreply 23May 3, 2022 4:12 PM

Dustin Hoffman said she helped him create Tootsie.

Alice ? Sitcom ?

by Anonymousreply 26May 3, 2022 4:24 PM

Dustin just needed to watch Dorothy Lyman on AMC to craft Tootsie.

by Anonymousreply 27May 3, 2022 4:30 PM

Dorothy Lyman wasn't really Southern though. She just must have study Polly Holliday herself.

by Anonymousreply 28May 3, 2022 4:37 PM

r5 is on to something. Beth "Vera" Howland was dead for like a year before the world was told. Some hypothesized it was kept hidden so Linda Lavin wouldn't try to "sing" at her funeral.

by Anonymousreply 29May 3, 2022 4:37 PM

Phil McKeon had a terminal illness so his death was known of well in advance.

by Anonymousreply 30May 3, 2022 4:39 PM

R30. What illness?

by Anonymousreply 31May 3, 2022 4:49 PM

We weren't told. Nancy just mentioned an illness in a Facebook post. Cancer or something most likely.

He was also a big Republican

by Anonymousreply 32May 3, 2022 4:50 PM

Shoebutton was a private person. I wonder if she got a lot with Candice Bergen.

by Anonymousreply 33May 3, 2022 5:31 PM

She won't see 2023.

by Anonymousreply 34May 3, 2022 7:15 PM

[quote] Oh, her IMDb said she switched her registration from Dem to Republican in 2019!

Flo voted for Trump?

Sounds…about right.

by Anonymousreply 35May 3, 2022 7:28 PM

Linda Lavin will scat Amazing Grace at her funeral.

by Anonymousreply 36May 3, 2022 7:46 PM

[quote] "I only know her as the old bitch neighbour in Mrs Doubtfire, she seemed 84 then, almost 30 years ago"

R20 She also played this memorable part in "Gremlins" (released in '84).

I'm still here.

by Anonymousreply 38May 3, 2022 7:52 PM

She's been signing autographs for a very long time via mail, maybe she's tired of it. She'll be 85 in a few months. Many of them probably just try to sell it on ebay anyway.

New York voter records are public record and they still have her listed as a Democrat. Anyone can add trivia to IMDB and they don't fact check it.

by Anonymousreply 39May 3, 2022 7:59 PM

Beth "Vera Gorman" Howland died tragically when she slipped on a stray straw. Her body wasn't found for six months, even though she was married to that male mannequin from Murphy Brown.

by Anonymousreply 40May 3, 2022 8:21 PM

"Death Takes a Holliday" better be the title when she finally does kick the bucket.
