Come now and celebrate the genius of Jan Hooks

It is too bad that Alec Baldwin is the face that is the image for this clip, but Jan Hooks owned this bit completely.

She was insanely talented.

That clip was so different, it made a really strong impression on us as kids. We still sometimes say “pie’s never free” around holidays. Jan Hooks was a pretty special performer who really “went all the way” into these characters. Her life, the way she drifted into isolation, seemed very sad at the end. She was a strangely unique presence. I liked her a lot, loved watching her. That era of SNL was a high water mark.

She and Baldwin had chemistry on "30 Rock" as well.

The annual Jan Hooks thread.

She was an incredibly talented comedic actress. Unfortunately, she had a lot of personal problems. She spent the last dozen or so years of her life as a virtual recluse in her house in Upstate NY.

Really, R5? Who knew! You have all the inside dope. Cool!

Fuck off r6. Don't read threads you don't care about.

She was brilliant. One in a million.

There’s no basement at The Alamo!

Her reclusiveness was alcoholism. So sad. She was a comedic genius.
