I happened to run across Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball that I hadn't heard in a while and remembered how much I liked it.
Of course, I'd never publicly admit it.
DLers, what song are you embarrassed that you like.

"212" & "The Big Big Beat" - Azealia Banks "Stuck on Stupid" & "Don't Judge Me" - Chris Brown
It's the artists that I find embarrassing more so than the music. I rip their shit from YouTube and listen to the mp3s privately - not giving them Spotify coins if I can help it. Unfortunately, CB is featured on good songs with every single one of my favorite artists except Dawn Richard - those songs I'm still going to play on Spotify, unfortunately. (The other "favorite artists" in question: Brandy, Tinashe, Teyana Taylor, H.E.R., Sevyn Streeter, etc.)

I wouldn’t be embarrassed r21. The lyrics may be crude but Megan Thee Stallion is a very talented rapper. She’s young, hot and I’m sure has a high sex drive. She’s just rapping about what she knows.

[quote]You should be embarrassed, R44
Fuck that noise. Why should anyone be embarrassed for liking any pop music? I realized as I was posting it under this thread topic that I actually wasn’t embarrassed at all.
Life is crappy, so if you can find a moment of enjoyment by listening to a corny pop song, don’t let anyone stop you. And sing out Louise!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 8, 2022 8:21 PM |
May God forgive me, but this one makes me smile
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 8, 2022 8:33 PM |
Perhaps, I should have phrase the title:
"Songs I know I'm get crap for liking, so don't tell anyone because I don't feel like hearing it."
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 8, 2022 9:19 PM |
Say rather, music you enjoy but would be embarrassed to play for your peers. I don't really feel embarrassed when I'm enjoying corny old pop tunes. But I listen to them alone.

Not the biggest Mariah fan but her version of this song (especially live) is a guilty pleasure.

I guess I'm embarrassed that I am not a DJ, unless a song is stuck in my head, I'm perfectly happy to have a DJ curate songs for me. I loved Pandora Radio stations, I am really liking greatest hits and such from Youtube when it comes to the types of songs, sounds, and moods I enjoy. Some of my favorite youtube channels play "study music" - I don't know who the artists are but I enjoy the mood they create.
I've forked out so much money over the years on cassettes, then CDs, then digital...I'm tired. I'll still pay for an unusual artist I like or want to encourage.

[quote]I'll forever feel shame for liking Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?"
I've never said this out loud, but I actually really like a lot of Justin Bieber's music. I don't care about him as a person and don't think he's at all attractive, but I think he's a pretty decent pop singer/songwriter. I feel the same way about Post Malone.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 9, 2022 9:41 AM |
There are quite a few songs I love to sing along to on Def Leppard's Pyromania. And other popular heavy metal/hard rock-type songs.
And early 1980s power ballads.
I can't be embarrassed about Suddenly, Last Summer. That song is a mood.
R55, I can do a pretty good impersonation of Crash Test Dummies hits lol.

The Glory Of Love by Peter Cetera. So shlock but so epic
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 9, 2022 10:50 AM |
Peter Cetera's voice was not my favorite when I was young. I did not like falsetto type voices, like SuperTramp, BeeGees, but now they make me nostalgic.
R72, that's the Robinhood: Prince of Thieves song, yes?
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 9, 2022 11:09 AM |
R73, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was Bryan Adams' Everything I Do (I Do It For You)!
Glory of Love was from Karate Kid II (I had to look it up, but i knew it was from a movie).
Both great songs!
