You have to laugh at the premise that any adoption agency would give a child to a woman of her size. Just would not happen.

1) Children of obese parents are something like 20% more likely to be overweight

2) A morbidly obese parent may not be able to, say, run after a child in a dangerous situation. For example, a child who runs away in a parking lot or chases a ball into the street

3) The children's nutritional needs are possibly at risk if the parent feeds them the same diet.

4) The child will likely suffer teasing and taunts when other children see the parent.

5) Good luck getting on most rides at amusement parks. Places like Disney World are increasing seat size and safety restraints, but you aren't going to fit on many of the top attractions.

I agree R24, especially in light of the professional success she’s had. You’d think she’d use the resources available to her to get fit and healthy.

A woman who’s that morbidly obese and unhealthy would have a complicated pregnancy and delivery. She’d likely need a C-section and would be at high risk for post-op complications like wound dehiscence and infection, blood clots and pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, and heart failure.

I used to work with a lady who was that fat. She used to order 3 big meals at lunch and scarf all of it down at lunch. And that was just one meal. She also ate junk all day long and had to bring her own chair because none of our chairs would hold her. And if she didn't eat out, her husband who was 30 years older would bring her a huge box of food for lunch. I would have been mortified to eat that much in front of anyone. You have to eat a huge amount of food to get that fat. I hear she died and she was maybe only in her early 50s.

I once knew someone in AA who was nearly this size. She had suffered extreme abuse as a child. She didn’t talk about it much. It was pretty damn sad. I invited her and her partner over for dinner once and there was simply no chair she could sit in. She cried and the two of them left. I bet they’re still together, though.
