Rainbow flags may be confiscated to 'protect' World Cup fans, Qatar official says

[quote] Same-sex relations are criminalized in the conservative Gulf nation of Qatar, which will host the 2022 World Cup.

Boycott this World Cup.

by Anonymousreply 1April 3, 2022 2:51 AM

Just don't go there. Fuck them neanderthals.

by Anonymousreply 2April 3, 2022 2:57 AM

Why the fuck is the World Cup being held in a country the penalizes homosexuality?

by Anonymousreply 3April 3, 2022 3:01 AM

Because FIFA is corrupt and they were all bought off.

by Anonymousreply 4April 3, 2022 3:03 AM

[...]

by Anonymousreply 5April 3, 2022 3:08 AM

The double standard continues. Rainbow laces anyone?

by Anonymousreply 6April 3, 2022 4:50 AM

Wait, which one? The actual rainbow flag or the one that looks like a Nascar vehicle, because the latter is an abomination unto everyone with eyeballs.

[quote] Same-sex relations are criminalized in the conservative Gulf nation of Qatar,

The mother of all media spin. Homosexuality is jail time and a possible death sentence in Qatar. Doesn't bother FIFA, the football clubs participating in the Mundial in Qatar or the millions of fans who will travel to Qatar to view the matches.

by Anonymousreply 8April 3, 2022 4:58 AM

Do these Muslim hypocrites observe Ramadan?

by Anonymousreply 9April 3, 2022 5:37 AM

But...but..what about apartheid Israel pinkwashing?

by Anonymousreply 10April 3, 2022 8:23 AM

R10 I love how all these stupid far left gays want to criticize Israel over those poor unfortunate Palestinians. I want you to try an experiment. Go to Gaza or the West Bank and walk down the street holding hands with your boyfriend and see what happens. Then after you finish getting your skull bashed in we can talk about Israel.

by Anonymousreply 11April 3, 2022 8:27 AM

It's for the best. There is much more Muslim cock to be had on the down low. Allah isn't the only one to be praised.

by Anonymousreply 12April 3, 2022 9:38 AM

This set to be driest (pun intended ) World Cup ever with alcohol sales and consumption severely restricted and very expensive too. Unlike Dubai that actually made to attract mass tourism Doha is not . People will come to watch football then go back to their hotel and fly home with very little things to do there.

Its also will be the gayest as Qatari population is more than 3/4 male thanks to their huge expat/slave workers population. With football fans being overwhelmingly male Doha will have more dicks per capita than anywhere on earth during the tournament.

by Anonymousreply 13April 3, 2022 11:58 AM

Why would anyone have a rainbow flag at a soccer game anyway? It's not a pride event, is it?

by Anonymousreply 14April 3, 2022 12:03 PM

[quote]Same-sex relations are criminalized

What a civilized country they have.

by Anonymousreply 15April 3, 2022 12:04 PM

R7 what is this? Not that I care anymore at this point. They lost me at the trans/race wedge already.

by Anonymousreply 16April 3, 2022 12:04 PM

They left out the part about Qatar wanting to enact a law banning homosexuals from entering Qatar. It was put on hold, fearing that it would jeopardize Qatar getting the Mundial.

by Anonymousreply 17April 3, 2022 12:08 PM

Anyone that flies that hideous rainbow flag with the black and brown and pink and baby blue *should* be arrested.

by Anonymousreply 18April 3, 2022 12:11 PM

Primates.

by Anonymousreply 19April 3, 2022 4:36 PM

Are there many rainbow flags at the Super Bowl?

by Anonymousreply 20April 3, 2022 5:05 PM

Has anyone ordered a same sex wedding cake in Qatar yet?

by Anonymousreply 21April 3, 2022 5:22 PM

I guess there wont be rainbow armbands from "allies" this time?

There also needs to be a boycott of the sponsors of this World Cup.

by Anonymousreply 23April 5, 2022 10:30 AM

FIFA are money laundering scum and a threat to civilisation.

You’d be better off having the World Cup in somewhere equally corrupt like Russia…Oh, hang on a darn minute!

by Anonymousreply 24April 5, 2022 10:54 AM

The more restrictive countries are about homosexuality and male-female relationships, the easier it is to get gay sex.

by Anonymousreply 25April 5, 2022 11:32 AM

How much money did Ivanka and Jared make off Qatar?

by Anonymousreply 26April 5, 2022 2:02 PM

Gen Z is saying this is a good thing as they’re trying to protect the alphabet people.

by Anonymousreply 27April 5, 2022 2:07 PM

Wtf are you on about, R27?

Would say that the England team might have an issue this tourney keeping their lads-only fun under wraps, but Russia 2018 didn’t exactly stop them all coupling up and copping off with no subtlety, did it?

Their country, their rules. You don't have to go. FIFA didn't have to choose them but they did.

The rest of the world is increasingly aware of neocolonialism. They're not buying it; they're not becoming Western. They have indigenous values and traditions and are keeping them.

by Anonymousreply 31April 5, 2022 3:21 PM

Their country, their slaves.

by Anonymousreply 32April 5, 2022 3:35 PM

R31 There is something called “The United Nations” you know. And also “International Law”…

(Though obvs that didn’t stop migrant slaves being killed for shiny football stadiums.)

by Anonymousreply 33April 5, 2022 5:12 PM

We should always view events and people in terms of our interests and protection.

Homophobic countries, no matter their GDP per capita are uncivilised shitholes.

by Anonymousreply 34April 5, 2022 5:20 PM

Let’s not forget that all of this is entirely the fault of one man—Gianni Infantino.

It’s not going to stop homoerotic horseplay on the pitch so who’s even arsed? Pretty footballers always want to touch each other and it’s all part of the game babes😔

Flags are cringe anyway, whether patriotic or for any other cause.

This is where I reveal one of my biggest shards of paranoia. Sub text: my brother in law and my sister flew Emirates to Europe and connected in Dubai. Seattle - Dubai - Europe. WTF? After reading the story about the Scottish guy who was jailed for touching another man, my biggest aviation fear is that somehow my aircraft gets diverted to DXB. You'll know if it does because there will be a news story about the passenger who refused to get off the plane unless a representative of the American Embassy escorted him off and quarantined him until the flight continued.

I will not set footie in Dubai!

by Anonymousreply 37April 6, 2022 12:58 PM

R37 Dubai is basically one giant mall. You’d fit in fine.

by Anonymousreply 38April 6, 2022 1:41 PM

FIFA have been holding meetings about potentially extending World Cup game runtimes to 100 minutes.

As if 90 minutes of emotional pain weren’t punishment enough...

It sounds like a very boring place to have the World Cup. It's sad, because the players really didn't have a choice in it, did they? What about the closeted ones who now feel more closeted due to this shit? It's already an extremely homophobic sport.

by Anonymousreply 40April 6, 2022 10:15 PM

R40 ^ Fuck ‘em. They know where the door is.

The door with “60K per game” on it.

by Anonymousreply 41April 7, 2022 9:58 AM

[quote] They're not buying it; they're not becoming Western. They have indigenous values and traditions and are keeping them.

R31 Islam is neither "indigenous" nor a "tradition" in Qatar. Since you obviously find homo-murder in Islam/Qatar acceptable, one has to wonder why you are posting on a gay board?

by Anonymousreply 42April 7, 2022 1:01 PM

Well it will definitely be confusing for Europeans, because rainbow flags here are Peace Flags and have nothing to do with Gays..

I just took this of my neighbor's balcony - "PACE". I remember when I first moved here and saw them everywhere I thought, "Wow, there is a lot of support here for the cause." Alas its just PEACE, and not even "a piece..."

I’m never going to understand homophobia. The only difference I see between homosex and the one that doesn’t get you killed by bigots is that no babies result from a friendly little fuck with somebody who’s built along the same lines as you are yourself, and who has an innate, fundamental understanding of you that only a same-sex person can have. Which makes it perfect to me. How do people go batshit insane over that??

And why drag their gods into it? Take one look at the natural variety in the animal kingdom and you just KNOW God’s knickers are never twisted over how people fuck. God arranged for some really weird shit to go on. Worms turning into butterflies? Male seahorses? God is totally cool with same-sex sex. I am positive of it. And I don’t even believe in the all-powerful big white dude!

by Anonymousreply 45April 7, 2022 1:18 PM

R45 I would assume you didn't grow up religious at all. Religion has nothing to do with rational, unfortunately. There is nothing rational about it. Catholicism still celebrates a 14 yo girl who got knocked up by God without even attempting to explain it any other way than that.

by Anonymousreply 46April 7, 2022 1:26 PM

by Anonymousreply 49October 19, 2022 6:02 AM

Yeah, definitely boycott. Not to mention the thousands of slaves who died building those stadiums. How can these people sleep at night?

by Anonymousreply 50October 19, 2022 6:19 AM

r22 European clubs and footballers went full rainbow when confronting Hungary a supposedly "homophobic:" country despite homosexuality there is legal , sexual orientation is a protected class and state recognition of same-sex partnerships.

Meanwhile in Qatar homosexuality is a criminal offense and death penalty for it still in the books. We will see how these rainbow "allies" spin this.

by Anonymousreply 51October 19, 2022 6:26 AM

shithole country

I’m rather hoping this will thin out the stupid population of stupid football supporters.

If you’re gay and a football supporter there’s something wrong with you in the first place.

Don’t blame Qatar - blame homophobic football.

“Turkeys voting for Christmas”…

by Anonymousreply 54October 20, 2022 10:11 AM

or research qatar in regards to international govt corruption and proxy wars.

by Anonymousreply 55October 20, 2022 10:14 AM

[quote] Don’t blame Qatar - blame homophobic football.

Qatar - not football - is a homo-murdering medieval entity. Blame Islam!

by Anonymousreply 56October 20, 2022 11:49 AM

I suppose rainbow cock rings are also off the table. That's unfortunate.

by Anonymousreply 57October 20, 2022 12:04 PM

Woke gays who long advocating to boycott Israel due to "pinkwashing" are very quiet about this .

by Anonymousreply 58October 20, 2022 1:37 PM

R39 kms that's a horrible idea. 90m already tests my spicy adhd to the limit as well as my sanity bc my teams are so shit. cutting games to 60m would be ideal for me and so many other fans

by Anonymousreply 59November 24, 2022 1:20 AM

Qatar is a backwards shithole, but i don't understand why people wave rainbow flags at a football match in the first place. Why is football now a celebration of LGBT?

by Anonymousreply 60November 24, 2022 1:29 AM

Don’t ever trust a Muslim

by Anonymousreply 61November 24, 2022 1:34 AM

Yet "progressives----and especially progressive "Queers" (quotes on purpose)----just LOVE Muslims!!!! They will do anything--throw over their own brothers and sisters----to "fight Islamophobia!"
