As a reminder, Scott was convicted of killing his pregnant wife Laci because he was having an affair
by Anonymous | reply 115 | July 31, 2022 3:39 PM |
And he killed her inside the house.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 2, 2022 3:36 PM |
But there was no physical evidence that any death happened in the house.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 2, 2022 3:38 PM |
R2 I thought there was blood splatter? Or was it from elsewhere?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 2, 2022 3:40 PM |
500k is a bargain
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 2, 2022 3:50 PM |
r2 = Janey Peterson
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 2, 2022 3:51 PM |
Does Scott come with the house as an amenity? If so, I'd consider it.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 2, 2022 3:55 PM |
I thought all houses in California started at a a million dollars
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 2, 2022 4:07 PM |
R3 There was a tiny amount of blood spatter on a comforter, not enough to actually prove anything. I seem to remember that an application of luminol on a floor turned up blood stains as well.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 2, 2022 4:09 PM |
Murder house in Modesto for 500k. This is where we are are folks. Lol…I wonder if the notoriety helps or hurts?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 2, 2022 4:18 PM |
Modesto isn’t really California, r7.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 2, 2022 4:22 PM |
Does the house still smell like bleach?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 2, 2022 4:22 PM |
Fairly mediocre house, nicely presented though, and seems to be selling at below estimated market value. Probably not a bad deal if you had to live in the area, and it does have quite a nice pool
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 2, 2022 4:50 PM |
No, absolutely no physical evidence saying there was a murder in the house. Plus, a number of other loose ends that were never tied that pointed to Scott’s innocence (like numerous people seeing Laci walking around the neighborhood with the dog after Scott was supposed to have already killed her).
I bet he really did kill her but there’s absolutely nothing physical proving it
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 2, 2022 5:05 PM |
I would find it difficult to live in that house. I’ve seen too many horror movies. The war in my head between the rational and irrational would be exhausting. I don’t really believe in ghosts, but I also do not want to be proven wrong on this.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 2, 2022 5:49 PM |
Scott is a cold blooded murderer
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 2, 2022 6:10 PM |
R15, With a hot ass, even Laci's mother thought so.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 2, 2022 6:13 PM |
He’s gross looking now
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 2, 2022 6:19 PM |
Nice house, great price, bad juju 😳
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 2, 2022 6:25 PM |
Speculation is he actually killed her by strangulation or suffocation. Guilty as sin.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 2, 2022 7:02 PM |
I wonder how much he planned it.
Chilling to think you could be going about your life happy as a clam— and all the while someone’s planning how to kill you.
Then again he didn’t really have a disposal plan, so maybe it wasn’t premeditated.
Nice house, though.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 2, 2022 7:22 PM |
Yea I'm sure they argued he strangled her on the bed.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 2, 2022 7:40 PM |
Read online that he drowned her in the backyard pool.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 2, 2022 7:50 PM |
I'd let him stick it in me. In fact, I'd buy the house, and invite him over to fuck me in it.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 2, 2022 7:54 PM |
The stove looks nice and I like the pool.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 2, 2022 7:55 PM |
What’s with busy backsplashes? I see them in many homes for sale.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 2, 2022 7:56 PM |
He did a pretty good job of keeping the house pretty clear of forensic evidence. I would guess he did plan to kill her. He started out not wanting children and then supposedly changed his mind. He already had girlfriend Amber on tap. If the body / bodies hadn't washed up, he might have gotten away with it.
IMO, he's a scumbag. The lower half of his face, looks like mush mouth.
I do think there wasn't a lot of evidence, though.
The house: I guess even Modesto has decent house prices. $400K is nothing to sneeze at. The neighborhood seems pretty nice. I would guess Laci was killed at home, though. So, I'd have to pass on that.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 2, 2022 7:59 PM |
The house is a pretty blank canvas and a reasonable price. By the time you're tinkered around with it decoration wise etc they'd be no juju left R18.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 2, 2022 8:01 PM |
To all you guys getting worked up over a murderer, go practice your self-asphyxiation 😒
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 2, 2022 8:06 PM |
I would have rimmed John Wilkes Booth, slow, deep and non-stop.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 2, 2022 8:24 PM |
How many owners have there been since Scott and Laci lived there?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 2, 2022 8:27 PM |

The fuck is that supposed to mean? It's a shithole town. And yes, it's still in California.

I want to see the Halloween decorations

For those who recall the Charles Stuart case, the husband who shot and killed his pregnant wife in 1989 after attending a birthing class in Boston and then told the police that a black man did it, I used to live near their suburban home in Reading, MA.
After her murder and his suicide, the house became a tourist attraction for curious gawkers. It was eventually sold, then sold, then sold and sold again. Anyone who bought it only stayed for a short time and then listed it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 2, 2022 8:40 PM |
R34, Naturally, I would insist he bathe first. Also, he was a very vain actor who took pride in his appearance, I'm sure he kept everything nice and clean.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | April 2, 2022 8:43 PM |
R20, it’s easy when you have no real soul and humanity
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 2, 2022 10:43 PM |
R34, white supremacist
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 2, 2022 10:44 PM |
And you can still see the blood stain on the floor in the dining room!
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 2, 2022 11:57 PM |
The entire case against Scott was circumstantial — but highly compelling. Didn’t LEO even find a hair of Laci’s that was wrapped in the pliers that police believe was used to tie cement blocks around her body when it was tossed into the ocean? The pliers that were in the fishing boat that he failed to mention owning to police? The case was mainly centered around the testimony of Amber, her work for the prosecution made the case.
Modesto is a hellhole. I love CA and would live almost anywhere just to get my foot in the door — but not Modesto.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 3, 2022 12:20 AM |
Modesto is still in the Bay . Much preferable to other parts of California
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 3, 2022 12:21 AM |
The laundry hookup in the living room is a nice touch.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 3, 2022 12:23 AM |
Scott was clear with Laci that he didn't want children. Bitch didn't listen.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 3, 2022 1:07 AM |
Scott was clear with Laci that he didn't want children. Bitch knocked her up anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 3, 2022 2:14 AM |
Oh you know Laci tricked him R44. He pulled out and she managed to scoop some up off the sheets and shoved it up her cooch.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 3, 2022 2:22 AM |
I drove by the house when I was in Modesto for work a few years back. While downtown Modesto seems shitty, that neighborhood Is really nice
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 3, 2022 1:46 PM |
There’s a 6 part docu-series about the Peterson Case on A&E (now on Hulu). It does show the other potential ways she may have been killed that weren’t fully investigated. After seeing that, I’m not fully convinced he did it
It seems everyone turned against him the minute he was found to be having an affair—it clouded everything.
Scott recently did get his death sentence changed to a life sentence. I think a juror hid something major in her background
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 3, 2022 1:49 PM |
R47, Governor Newsom abolished all death sentences in California.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 3, 2022 4:44 PM |
He did it R47. His behavior gave him away. Most sociopaths think they are smarter than they really are.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 3, 2022 6:14 PM |
Scott Peterson’s death sentence commuted because of jury issue
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 3, 2022 6:26 PM |
R49, his weirdly calm behavior may have been about hiding the affair rather than killing his wife
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 3, 2022 6:26 PM |
R47, what’s the name of that doc?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 3, 2022 9:52 PM |
R49, positively
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 3, 2022 10:00 PM |
What fugly little house.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 3, 2022 10:01 PM |
He also disguised himself and was caught fleeing to Mexico with cash. He also lied about absolutely everything.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 3, 2022 11:29 PM |
And his affect was just not reality
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 3, 2022 11:33 PM |
Are we sure he didn't kill her because her name was "Laci"?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 3, 2022 11:36 PM |
I like his new house better. It totally suits his style.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 3, 2022 11:43 PM |
He also killed his unborn son, whom they had named and decorated a room in the house in anticipation of his arrival.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | April 3, 2022 11:43 PM |
R52, it’s called The Murder of Laci Peterson
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 4, 2022 12:30 AM |
[Quote] He also disguised himself and was caught fleeing to Mexico with cash. He also lied about absolutely everything.
He actually has an interesting excuse for this saying that he was trying to evade the media to go on a golf outing with his family. I cant recall why he had the money but it was also part of a the excuse
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 4, 2022 12:31 AM |
The Scott/Laci thing was going on when I first discovered DL. This place was at its finest during this case. One hilarious thread after another.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 4, 2022 12:36 AM |
I do not think I could live there. I would constantly be thinking about what happened to her, the nursery, etc. It would be very depressing.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 4, 2022 12:38 AM |
Who was the guy who killed his pregnant wife and two kids in Colorado? Wonder if their house ever sold
by Anonymous | reply 65 | April 4, 2022 12:42 AM |
[quote] Governor Newsom abolished all death sentences in California.
Death penalty in CA is still legal, I think. I'm not even sure if Newsom officially commuted all sentences. He did put a moratorium on the executions, though.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | April 4, 2022 12:45 AM |
I don't know if I'd want to live in that Modesto house either, but it has nothing to do with Scott and Laci Peterson.
I have a friend who lives in a murder house right now in Seabrook, TX. He's never gotten a haunted vibe. He does want to sell to be closer to Houston, but again, nothing to do with the house's past.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | April 4, 2022 12:47 AM |
R65- No, I do not think they are even listing it anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 4, 2022 12:53 AM |
Of course he did, R62. And who wouldn’t want to squeeze in a golf outing when your wife and unborn son are missing?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | April 4, 2022 12:53 AM |
R65, that was Chris Watts. They were behind on their mortgage, the bank was about to foreclose, and the wife’s parents placed a lien on it (although he basically let them have it)
It’s still empty almost four years later. Although we know he killed the wife in the house, there is no evidence that shows which room. It’s hotly contested where he killed the children. He claims he killed them on the site where he dumped them, but again, there is no conclusive physical evidence. Since there was no trial, we’ll never know.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | April 4, 2022 12:54 AM |
People don't stop living because someone is missing R69. In fact, most mental health professionals recommend that you go about your normal routine as much as possible.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | April 4, 2022 12:55 AM |
Another dick who erased his family so he could be with his hot new tight side-pussy.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 4, 2022 12:56 AM |
R71-The very day they go missing? On Christmas day? At the location their loved ones body washes up months later?
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 4, 2022 12:59 AM |
Scott is a cold hearted charmer
by Anonymous | reply 74 | April 4, 2022 2:04 AM |
Damn R65, what house? I'm close to Seabrook.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | April 4, 2022 2:12 AM |
Sorry, R67.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | April 4, 2022 2:13 AM |
R60, Where are their Christmas decorations?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | April 4, 2022 2:15 AM |
No R41, Modesto is not in the Bay, it is in the Central Valley of CA. AKA conservative, undesirable area of CA. If that house was in the Bay Area, than yes, it would be a million dollars.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | April 4, 2022 2:17 AM |
The kitchen is great. Just need to swap out the flooring, countertops, backsplash, and cabinets.
Oh, and the lighting.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | April 4, 2022 5:12 PM |
R79 So in other words you just like the stove, fridge, and dishwasher? 😂
by Anonymous | reply 80 | April 7, 2022 3:03 AM |
I thought Scott Peterson was hot AF and I would think about having sex with him. I did feel kind of guilty about that, though.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | April 7, 2022 3:09 AM |
R65 As R70 said, that's Chris Watts. Here is the Watts house. It's been off the market for years due to various legal issues including the Rzucek family's lien. From the looks of the dead lawns, it's really starting to show its nearly four years of neglect.
The poor neighbors have grown beyond tired of all the lookie-loos coming from all over to drive by the house, take selfies and record videos. At this point I wouldn't blame them if they teamed up to burn the place to the ground and rid themselves of the macabre tourist attraction in their neighborhood.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | April 7, 2022 3:11 AM |
You people that want to bone murderers are so fucking weird

[quote] It’s hotly contested where he killed the children. He claims he killed them on the site where he dumped them, but again, there is no conclusive physical evidence. Since there was no trial, we’ll never know.
R70 Months after Chris Watts was sentenced, the Colorado investigators went to the Wisconsin prison where he'd been sent. Their aim was to interview him and tie up loose ends from the investigation and try to get at the ultimate truth of what happened, at a point where no further charges would be filed against Watts. It was in these interviews where he confessed to driving his daughters alive to his work site, with their dead mom's corpse wrapped in a sheet on the floorboard, and killing them in the back of his truck before dropping them into the oil tanks. It's so awful, worse than any decent person could ever imagine, that I'm inclined to believe it.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | April 7, 2022 3:18 AM |
His wife was in some multi-level scheme and not making any money. He had a mistress who was going to be the wife's replacement.

by Anonymous | reply 87 | April 7, 2022 3:47 AM |
R85, that’s BS
by Anonymous | reply 88 | April 7, 2022 3:51 AM |
It's unreal that otherwise "normal" people (had loving parents, no criminal history, no history of serious mental illness) can actually murder someone, let alone a loved one. Scott Peterson, Casey Anthony, Jodi Arias...I'll never understand it.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | April 7, 2022 4:52 AM |
Casey Anthony was a convicted felon (check fraud) when she went on trial for the death of her daughter.
Jodi Arias ... Travis did not deserve to get killed, but he was whitewashed in the media. He was called a "motivational speaker" when, really, he was an MLM shill (prepaid legal services). Also, Jodi was obviously a bunny boiler. She slashed his tires and crawled into his house through the doggy door. Travis continued fucking her.
IIRC, the holdout juror for the death penalty said that he (the juror) believed that Travis was mentally cruel to Jodi. I think Travis did treat her like she was good enough to fuck, but not good enough to take on vacation, etc. (Travis had plans to take another woman to Mexico or something right before the murder.)
Scott Peterson didn't even seem like he had a rocky relationship with Laci (like how Jodi & Travis had a rocky relationship). He's a colder person. He's a POS, actually.

by Anonymous | reply 93 | April 10, 2022 4:02 AM |
R89, but clearly you haven’t dug deep enough on Scott’s family, his upbringing, and most importantly, how his family behaved after the disappearance of Laci. I have read a few books on this case, but for the life of me, I cannot remember which book told the story of his mother’s upbringing. Her childhood was almost like a Russian orphanage, with unbelievable >>>trauma<<<. I’m talking real trauma, not trauma trauma. I can’t remember his mom’s name, it was Jackie, I believe. Jackie called Laci’s mom Sharon a fucking bitch if my memory is correct, because Sharon dared to tell Scott he’s a fucking liar, she hates him, and that he owes it to her to give them her body on their last phone call.
Jackie was a full tilt narcissist, and I believe her husband is too, but then again, they both seemed like sociopaths. Maybe I got these stories from the book Scott’s sister wrote? Hearing what the family was like when Scott was a child, it just sounded extremely cold, toxic, constant criticism, and lack of any emotional intimacy. It sounds like they actually created the perfect environment for growing sociopaths.

During the time of the Laci Peterson case, I was posting on a private true crime board. The webmistress, who was a force of nature, posted with us, and was able to bring Gene Ralston to the board. Ralston was the side-scan sonar guy and he showed us a photo of what he had seen. Obviously the image of a body covered with sea crabs. The image did not remain any longer than a few hours because Ralston understandably had second thoughts about the legality of posting that picture, and the ramifications it might have on any upcoming prosecution.
Our webmistress attended the trial of Scott Peterson, accompanied by her laptop, and kept us up to date on a daily basis.

In effort to establish his belief that she was alive (lol), he inadvertently solidified his whereabouts in his voice message to Laci by mentioning that he was coming back from Berkeley.
Yet, funnily enough, three people testified SP said he went golfing on the morning of 24 December.
[quote]"He told me he was golfing all day and he had tried to call her," said Krigbaum.
[quote]Terra Venable, also testified that she heard Peterson say he'd spent the day at the golf course.
[quote]"He told me he went to play golf," Kemple told prosecutor Rick Distaso.
He would later tell the police he was at the marina when asked.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | July 31, 2022 5:01 AM |
It's a fugly white trash looking house.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | July 31, 2022 5:06 AM |
R20, it was premeditated by 2 1/2 weeks.
A professional colleague whom he met in October 2002 in Anaheim, Shawn Sibley, had introduced SP to Amber Frey, not knowing Scott was married. When she later learned he was after they started seeing each other, Scott told Shawn that he lost his wife and that he would tell Amber the truth. That weekend, he 1) looked up, found, and purchased the boat he disposed Laci's body from; 2) researched wave activity in the Berkeley Marina; and 3) told Amber this Christmas would be his first as a widow. On 24 December, after murdering Laci that morning (or the night before) he took the boat out for the very first time into the Berkeley Marina and dumped his wife's corpse near the Eastern shore of Brooks Island. Four months later, the bodies of Laci and their unborn child Connor washed up separately due in an easterly direction about 1km from Brooks Island in two separate areas on the Marina Bay/Southwest Annex Coast.
Much would be made of the media reporting the fact that SP went to the Berkeley Marina and fuelled speculation that "someone else did it," held onto the bodies for four months, and them dumped in that very marina. Only, the media never reported specifically where SP went (Brooks Island), and both bodies washed up almost directly east of that island.
The 6-part A&E series is a bunch of smoke and mirrors. If people actually credibly sighted Laci walking the dog that morning, the defence would have put them on the stand. They didn't. Also, many people specified Laci wearing black leggings. The only problem is that she washed ashore wearing beige pants. The series convinced me for a hot second that maybe he was innocent. It's pretty spooky. But, after I did a deep dive, it's pretty clear he's guilty af.

The house has a interesting sale history. Scott and laci bought it in 2000 for $177k it sold on 2005 for $310k then the next 2 sales it dropped to $280k then $180k. The person who got it for $180k sold it for $510k this year.

Realtors are supposed to disclose if there has been either a murder or death by material defect (like a fall off a dangerous deck), so I wonder what this realtor did.
“There may have been a murder here and there will be murder tourists knocking on your door. Caveat Emptor.”
by Anonymous | reply 105 | July 31, 2022 11:44 AM |
R95 That’s horrifying. I’m doing yet another deep dive into JBR due to the recent thread here and I’m trying to find pictures of the crime scene without stumbling upon actual pictures of JonBenet. I don’t think I could handle it. (Mary!)
by Anonymous | reply 106 | July 31, 2022 11:48 AM |
R106, the actual death pictures of JonBenet were surprisingly peaceful, looked almost like a sleeping child. The wound on the head wasn't as icky as one would expect. I've also seen the autopsy photos, which didn't upset me either. I once considered becoming a pathologist, and death, even violent death doesn't unduly disturb me.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | July 31, 2022 2:08 PM |
R107- She did look very peaceful. But the site I was on also showed her skull and it was horrifying. It took a lot of rage to do that much damage.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | July 31, 2022 2:42 PM |
R105 I think it depends on the state laws. In some states, realtors don't have to disclose murders that occurred in homes.
