Anyone who voted for Gene Rayburn needs their head examined. I was surprised to see Bill Cullen not on the list. Didn't he host like a thousand game shows?

Rayburn got sort of silly and too involved as the Match Game years grew on. But he was a good down-to-earth game show host before that.

I love watching the old Bill Cullen Price is Right on YouTube. Bill is great host, but the contestants are the best.

My favorites were Alex Trebek, Gene Rayburn and Dick Clark in that order.

Monty Hall and Chuck Woolery were the sexiest. Wacko politics aside, Woolery was quite muscular and built like a linebacker. He didn't age well though.

Someone on DL previously posted an interview from the 1980s with Peter Tomarken where he talked about he and other game show hosts of the time being asked to pose nude for a "Men of Game Shows" Playgirl pictorial. It never happened, because no one would do it.

R73 They appealed to completely different audiences. Unless you were a housewife waiting for the laundry to finish, the "true-life" tales of woe on Queen didn't hold much interest. Gong on the other hand was a show for the whole family, though entertaining more because of Chuck Barris than the contestants.

I remember watching Queen for a Day. The contestant with the most pathetic and tragic life was the winner. It was a very depressing show to watch.
