by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 28, 2022 4:02 AM |
Campion did good. I like her very modest dress. It's probably sexist but I do think it's a good thing to be dignified when you're older.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 28, 2022 4:02 AM |
Her hair is stunning.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 28, 2022 4:03 AM |
If the Oscars need to focus on a non white group, next year go Asian. At least they have been classy all night
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 28, 2022 4:05 AM |
This is the closest Beyonce will ever come to going to the BET awards.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 28, 2022 4:05 AM |
Will Smith was arresting according to TMZ and has left the theatre.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 28, 2022 4:05 AM |
Now they're celebrating a 28 year anniversary?!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 28, 2022 4:06 AM |
Is Demi Moore original G.I. Jane spiking on Twitter? It could be the best Hollywood buzz she’s had in years?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | March 28, 2022 4:06 AM |
Pulp Fiction cast presenting Best Actor? Is Frances McDormand pissed over not being nominated?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 28, 2022 4:06 AM |
Pulp Fiction rules!

I'm so glad John Travolta is bald! That is a bold statement.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 28, 2022 4:07 AM |
Is Sacheen Littlefeather available to accept Will Smith’s Oscar?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 28, 2022 4:07 AM |
Travolta should have dumped the wigs years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 28, 2022 4:07 AM |

[quote] Does Jada shave her head so Will can pretend he's fucking a dude?
Will Smith is looking for you.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 28, 2022 4:07 AM |
I thought Gaga is presenting? Maybe the BP with Bradley Cooper?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 28, 2022 4:07 AM |
Oh, shit...
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 28, 2022 4:08 AM |
Travolta got FAT.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 28, 2022 4:08 AM |
Apparently Jada shaved her hair after dealing with alopecia. It was hard for her and Will may have been reacting to that
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 28, 2022 4:08 AM |
I wish Revolta would make a joke about being bald.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 28, 2022 4:08 AM |
He'll probably send JADA up there to accept R14.
He's a pissant fucking coward.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 28, 2022 4:08 AM |
Elordi looks like a movie star so he's on his way.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 28, 2022 4:08 AM |
Will will apologize to Chris during his speech?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 28, 2022 4:08 AM |
Maybe Sam and John shaved their heads backstage to support Jada.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 28, 2022 4:09 AM |

Apparently, Denzel pulled Will aside during a commercial break after the incident and spoke to him. The last time Denzel gave Will advice was when he told him not to kiss a man on screen, so I'm not optimistic.

by Anonymous | reply 94 | March 28, 2022 4:13 AM |
He’s being “called on” to “love” and “protect” people by beating someone on national TV. The Academy deserves this embarrassment for giving this undeserved award out.
Also, Richard Williams is a fucking sexist lunatic.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | March 28, 2022 4:13 AM |
I'm so fucking sick of these people.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | March 28, 2022 4:13 AM |
Please, Chris, go up & punch out Will.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | March 28, 2022 4:13 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 108 | March 28, 2022 4:14 AM |
Oh, fuck you, you self-important asshole.
He needs to be met by LAPD backstage and locked up.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | March 28, 2022 4:14 AM |
People standing up and cheering on someone who assaulted someone else for a joke.
Yep, this is going to turn into a triumph for Smith. Don't be shocked if Rock is going to blackballed after this.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | March 28, 2022 4:14 AM |
Cry you fucking baby.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | March 28, 2022 4:14 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 116 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |
[quote] Guess all those rumors about WIll having a violent temper are true. That was career suicide.
I thought tonight's behaviour was inexcusable but I though the same thing about Kanye barging up on stage and demanding the award be taken from that Taylor Swift.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |
I hope he gets played off.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |

Get the hook!
by Anonymous | reply 121 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 126 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |
Did he win for Ali?
by Anonymous | reply 127 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |

Stop pretending you’re saving the world
by Anonymous | reply 128 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |
Where is the Chris Rock apology? He should be in handcuffs.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |

Honestly, he'd be insufferable even if he didn't just physically assault someone.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |
The first thing he should have said " I'm sorry. And I don't deserve this award. What is more important than the award is being a great human being first". He cast a pall on the event, his career and the memory of Venus and Serena's father. Fuck him. He should give the award back. I'll never look at him the same. Shame!
Love makes you do crazy things. BULLSHIT!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 135 | March 28, 2022 4:15 AM |
I will never ever see anything he's in.

by Anonymous | reply 146 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |
No way will they start the music to play Will off for talking too long.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |

Play him off the stage, this is just pure ego at this point
by Anonymous | reply 151 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 153 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 154 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |
Good move by his mother to stay in Philly with her knitting club.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |
How fucking insulting is it that in the last decade people like Isabelle Huppert and Willem Dafoe lost Oscars and this self important closet case talent-free cunt wins? Denzel Washington is an ACTUAL actor, and he has to listen and pretend like this is well earned. Nadir for the Oscars.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |
“I’m taking up too much time.”
That’s the only part of his silly speech that made sense
by Anonymous | reply 157 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |
Serena had a baby in case you didn't know.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |
Enough.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | March 28, 2022 4:16 AM |
Has any other actor ever won the Oscar and damaged his career in the same night?
The apology should have been to Chris Rock not the Academy and nominees.

by Anonymous | reply 162 | March 28, 2022 4:17 AM |
And WHY are they allowing him to ramble endlessly??
by Anonymous | reply 163 | March 28, 2022 4:17 AM |
R156 This. The Oscars are a joke by now.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | March 28, 2022 4:17 AM |
he was afraid everyone saw him spit but he's okay with hitting someone
by Anonymous | reply 165 | March 28, 2022 4:17 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 168 | March 28, 2022 4:17 AM |
Sorry but his behavior was completely ghetto. There is no excuse for walking up and hitting someone. The only reason is that he is a closet case, and probably on drugs.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | March 28, 2022 4:17 AM |
So, Will Smith’s mother is so afraid of her son’s violence she stayed back in Philadelphia?
by Anonymous | reply 171 | March 28, 2022 4:17 AM |
This is the craziest shit in Oscar's history. I can't believe it.

This would be the cherry on top, R32. Unfortunately, I think he will win. And worse, if he's absent at the time his name is called, collecting it will fall on the shoulders of his entitled wife. After all, she dressed the part of the winner.

Smith is DEAD TO ME, and I've liked him more than not over the years!
He committed one of my unforgivable sins - not assault, but "punching down". He's an A-lister who just assaulted and humiliated a B-lister in public, someone who won't dare complain or press charges, because he can't afford to make A-list enemies or piss off the idiot twitter mobs. Smith has just engaged in a highly public abuse of power, and it's earned him a permanent place on my shit list.

I remember when the Oscars was an event that everyone looked forward to. It was movie stars recognizing movie stars, all within a classy environment. There was glamour and taste. Now, it's minor celebrities with no ties to the movies, appearing because there is no more glamour in Hollywood. Instead, it is turning into a gaudy, tasteless celebration of the mediocre and political, ruined by the PC movement in the US. And, it will never come back.

Get off the cross, Mary! Chris Rock is hardly "B-list," and his comedy has been confrontational & purposely offensive for literal decades. Will Smith was obviously upset for a number of reasons – possibly including some we don't know yet – and clearly in the wrong for getting so upset over a silly joke, which he knows full well. There is zero chance Rock would want to press charges, nor will it damage his career in the slightest (quite the opposite, actually).

R481 If you watched her and Keith in the background afterwards she was actually frightened by it. Keith had to put his coat around her and hold her hand to comfort her. Keith was probably like that shit never happens at the CMAs. Because if it did there would probably be guns involved.

Timmy's outfit was Louis Vuitton womenswear. I loved it, but not for this event. From CNN:
Bare-chested beneath his black blazer, the actor had fans swooning online. "Timothée Chalamet is basically a rockstar right?" wrote one Twitter user, with another joking: "I'd like to thank whoever made this outfit, Timothée Chalamet's parents, and God." Standout looks from the Oscars 2022 red carpet
The 26-year-old star -- who featured in two movies nominated in this year's Best Picture category, "Dune" and "Don't Look Up" -- is known for his daring red carpet fashion. Recent award ceremonies have seen him named on "best dressed" lists thanks to his use of bright colors, sharp tailoring and elevated streetwear.
He also regularly looks to Louis Vuitton for the biggest occasions, not least the 2019 Golden Globes, where he wore a sparkling harness that went viral and sparked a menswear trend in the process.
Though the Academy Awards are known for comparatively restrained fashion, Chalamet has previously used Hollywood's biggest night to make statements -- like the all-white Berluti suit he wore to 2018's ceremony. Two years later, his hybrid blue Prada tracksuit-suit became one of the night's most talked about menswear looks after it drew online comparisons to various uniformed workers, from a paramedic to a parking valet.
The actor was one of several male stars to take an adventurous approach on this year's red carpet. Daniel Kaluuya and "The Power of the Dog" star Kodi Smit-McPhee were among those to eschew conventional black-tie with brightly colored suits.
But not everyone was impressed with Chalamet's outfit, which was designed by Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, with one commenter writing: "Someone throw a blanket on Timothee Chalamet and call his mother."

Apologies, I haven’t read all 2,000+ posts so may be repeating someone.
I’m tired of the Oscar’s “spread the love around” approach. Different winner for Best Picutre, Director, Screenplay, actors from 4 different movies. I want a film that sweeps all the categories, because 1) I like that, and 2) it would probably be a sign that it was a movie people actually watched! The last time I can recall that happening was Silence of the Lambs, which was a blockbuster.
We need more of those.

You ain't kidding. Back in 1976, Mary Pickford was wheeled out (in a live remote segment from Pickfair) to accept an honorary Oscar for her contributions to cinema. Wearing a wig that was slightly askew, she seemed to have no notion of where she was or what was going on. When they handed her the Oscar, as she sat in her wheelchair, she seemed vaguely aware that she had been given something. "I shall treasure it always," she said, I think.
