I hope Rock presses charges for criminal assault and sues Smith for civil assault and AMPAS and ABC for failure to protect HIM while AT WORK. If this is covered under SAG/AFTRA he can sue the hired producers for dangerous work environment.

But my larger point, r589, is that this Oscars show wanted a pronounced and even overwhelming Black presence.

Even to the point of having a Black actress come onstage to crack wise about being in "Whiteface," as though "Blackface" were still a thing rather than a deplorable part of cinematic history.

TPTB should have been careful of what they wished for.
