SUCK MY COCK IF YOU DISAGREE

Sorry, no one is going to suck your cock.

Actually, they were the queens of rock in the 1970s.

In the 1980s, they were singing shitty synth pop.

I love then before trashy 80s glam rock. Both gorgeous too. Loved they Led Zep tribute at KCH.

Magic Man, Crazy for you, Dreamboat Annie, Baracuda, Straight On, the Wilson Sisters are Rock Goddesses.

by Anonymousreply 5March 19, 2022 11:33 PM

Ann Wilson also had an incubator and mentored a lot of the baby grungies in the late 80s and 90s like Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder.

by Anonymousreply 6March 19, 2022 11:34 PM

Helen Reddy had ZERO popularity in the 80s and was thought of as tragically unhip.

by Anonymousreply 7March 19, 2022 11:34 PM

Nancy Wilson would knee boot kick any y'all right up yer ass with her guitar solo takeoffs.

by Anonymousreply 8March 19, 2022 11:35 PM

Always a queen.

Anyone enjoying the new Ann record?

'Greed', the title track', is on my Spotify repeat. So metal!

Hazell Dean was the lesbian queen of cheap gay club hi-nrg tracks.

by Anonymousreply 11May 27, 2022 7:19 PM

Who was claiming Helen Reddy or Hazell Dean as the Queens of Rock ever?!

by Anonymousreply 12May 27, 2022 7:21 PM

I loved Ann Wilson's Cass Elliot tribute at KFC.

by Anonymousreply 13May 27, 2022 7:22 PM

Dreamboat Annie is a fantastic album.

Heart had some lean early 80's years. I loved PassionWorks, but it was not a big hit. I hated their sell out synth pop era (so did they). I'd say Chrissie Hynde consistently turned out better stuff through the 80s. Stevie was so coked up, and Pat hit the skids mid decade.

These seams go on...

Kate Bush is the real queen

Tina Turner's comeback came at just the right time.

When lady rockers were going soft, Tina doubled down and took care of business.

Of course, in the 70s, no bitch rocked as hard as Tina either.

Only thing Ann is queen of is Golden Corral.

by Anonymousreply 21May 27, 2022 9:49 PM

What was always so cool to me about Heart is that even in the misogynistic world of 70s & especially 80s rock, Ann & Nancy were still the main songwriters and the marquee ‘names’. Hardly anyone knows the names of the men who played in their band.

People underrate how important that is.

by Anonymousreply 22May 28, 2022 3:05 PM

So, who actually was Dreamboat Annie? And who Bebe Le Strange? Did they know each other?

by Anonymousreply 23May 28, 2022 3:08 PM

Seeing a lot of criticism here for the self-titled and the song ‘Never’...

Mostly agree that it’s hairband Starship schmaltz at its worst. BUT I have to admit to loving the final chorus/outro, it’s cool as fuck the way Ann snaps on it and the power chords kick into overdrive in that 80s way. It feels pretty epic by the 4-minute mark..

Also, in the video Nancy looked so hot and glam in her Rococo Prince-and-the-Revolutionesque outfit (but they did Ann so dirty filming her in all black/in the shadows...cunts).
