MSNBC has a promo in rotation of Ali Velshi taking an old woman's smartphone to inquire the name of the train station where they are - she's reaching for her phone while he's repeating the name to her multiple times, like she's deaf. Text appears lauding MSNBC reporters for all the help they're providing on the ground. She's clearly relieved just to get her phone back.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 25, 2022 7:37 AM |
I don't get that promo of Ali Velshi, he comes off as completely clueless, she is simply asking the name of the station and Ali doesn't know and asks someone off camera. Clearly they are attempting to promote Ali Velshi but that isn't the best clip for that.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 25, 2022 12:55 PM |
I think Ali Arouzi is so cute and a good reporter but he always has this sad look on his face. Obviously reporting from a war zone where horrific things are happening on a daily basis doesn't help (and I don't mean this to be a criticism anyway) but I get the feeling that may just be his demeanor. (Cal Perry, by contrast, appears to have more of a personality even when reporting under similar circumstances.) Still, he's adorable and I saw something the other day that said he may be single.
By the way, what happened with Erin McLaughlin? At the beginning of the war (which was a month ago now), she was on constantly but I haven't seen her in weeks. Did she leave?

While the MSNBC coverage in Ukraine has been good, it has been getting a little repetitive - possibly unavoidable under these conditions. I've taken to watching The Amanpour Report on PBS, including previous episodes, where there's lots of fresher content and perspective - including from the lying sackofshit Russians themselves. She seems to get interview access that networks don't.
I was surprised to see Amanpour doing double duty from Kyiv on CNN today.

No comments about Jen Psaki? It seems to be a done deal that she's heading to MSNBC this spring, even though she hasn't confirmed it yet. Where are they going to put her? I thought she wanted an easy schedule so she could have more time with her kids, so maybe the weekend?

Fox Business Network's Charles Gasparino reported on Wednesday that CNN+, a $120 million venture that launched yesterday, is already failing and may not survive on its own for much longer.
'CNN + employees bracing for layoffs possibly as soon as May amid projections of lackluster sales of new streaming channel; CNN employees say new streaming channel could be merged into larger Discovery+ as early as May unless subscriptions pick up,' Gasparino wrote on Twitter.

My MSNBC viewing has dropped considerably since the war in Ukraine started. I very easily could have watched MSNBC all evening most weekdays and had it on most of the day on the weekend as background noise. But nowadays, I don't even see 30 minutes most days. I don't wanna see that boring, dry, repetitive war coverage. Most of the time they just bring people on to criticize Joe Biden or America for not doing enough to help Ukraine. No matter how hot Zelenskyy looks in the beard and tight athletic shirts, it is not worth it.
MSNBC has gotten so ridiculous with the wall to wall war coverage.
1.) Ukraine is not a part of NATO (they are not our allies).
2.) We had 4 years of a POTUS denigrating leaders and praising dictators and little to no news attention was given to that.
3.) The former POTUS tried to blackmail Ukraine to manufacture dirt on his political opponent in order to to get desperately needed weapons. MSNBC downplayed that.
4.) Current Ukraine President told Congress FUCK YOU during impeachment proceedings when POTUS tried to blackmail him. MSNBC downplayed that.
5.) And now all your coverage is about Ukraine and how horrible Joe Biden is? Fuck you MSNBC!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 3, 2022 9:52 AM |
What irks me a bit is the handful of Ukrainian officials, not Volodymyr specifically, who come on western media and scold about the lack of timely or adequate response on the part of the US/EU. When just the day before Russia invaded, the Ukrainians were partying and poo-pooing the continuous warnings they were being given that it was imminent.
Just once I would like to see them called out on that.

MSNBC’s prime time line-up went through a major ratings shake-up on Thursday night as Joy Reid snagged the top spot on the network in the key 25-54 age demographic.
Reid brought in 166,000 demo viewers, which was enough to edge out Stephanie Ruhle’s 157,000 demo viewers for first place on the network.
The Beat with Ari Melber landed in third in the demo with 153,000 viewers, while Chris Hayes came in fourth with 152,000 demo viewers.
Meanwhile, the once-dominant Rachel Maddow Show, which was guest-hosted by Ali Velshi, came in a lackluster fifth place with 147,000 demo viewers.
Of course Reid was still submerged by the Fox ratings.

R133 Get your disinformation straight, Sussman had nothing to do with the Steele dossier. He's charged with lying to the FBI when bringing them a tip about communications between Trump Org & Russian Alfa Bank computers. His supposed lie was not revealing that he was working for multiple clients including the DNC. Thin gruel from a 3 year investigation.

The Justice Department's Special Counsel's Office has said that CIA data alleging a relationship between Donald Trump and Russia is 'not technically plausible.'
In a court filing on Friday, Special Counsel John Durham asserted that the alleged relationship with the former President and Russia - which Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann concluded - was 'user-created.'
Sussmann is accused of lying to the FBI in September 2016 saying he didn't work for the Clintons when he presented the 'purported data and "white papers" that allegedly demonstrated a covert communications channel' between former president Trump and Kremlin-tied Alfa Bank.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | April 18, 2022 5:55 AM |
Right, once again the only alleged crime is lying to the FBI. Trumps's favorite, "just a process crime". Trial will determine whether it was material. Durham will try to turn it into a show trial.

Her guests were two NYT journalists, Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, who wrote 'This Will Not Pass' and they assured her there were many more tapes to be released. Good times!

Tucker Carlson scored a whopping 639,000 viewers in the key 25-54 age demographic on Monday night.
Tucker’s dominance in the demo quadrupled MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, who brought in 148,000 demo viewers. Tucker tripled CNN’s Anderson Cooper, in his time slot, who brought in 175,000 demo viewers.
Fox News averaged 504,000 demo viewers across prime time, beating out CNN’s 165,000 average prime time demo viewers. MSNBC came in second in prime time in the demo with an average of 194,000 viewers.

I am pretty sure that neither Rachel nor Lawrence had any commercials it was wall to wall coverage of the abortion ruling. CNN had wall to wall commercials per usual.
by Anonymous | reply 253 | May 4, 2022 1:31 AM |
Some guy just ran behind Chris Hayes trying to duck down while Chris was on the air, I think it was one of the crew but it was funny.

MSNBC PRIME
by Anonymous | reply 255 | May 4, 2022 2:03 AM |
Tues-Friday the 9pm slot is called MSNBC Prime and produced by Rachel's team
Amazon needs to send a cease and desist letter. I'm okay with Jen Psaki taking over full time in the future if this Prime thing doesn't work out.
by Anonymous | reply 256 | May 4, 2022 2:03 AM |
Rachel is now essentially a weekly guest host on her own show. Strange arrangement.
by Anonymous | reply 257 | May 4, 2022 2:07 AM |
Monday night will still be called The Rachel Maddow Show, R257.
by Anonymous | reply 258 | May 4, 2022 4:33 AM |
Ridiculous, once a week ? Why is she there at all then ? Why did MSNBC agree to this ?
by Anonymous | reply 259 | May 4, 2022 5:00 AM |
Because otherwise Rachel would leave.

Fox News’s late-night talk show Gutfeld! topped all of MSNBC and CNN’s prime time line-up on Monday night, including The Rachel Maddow Show.
Greg Gutfeld brought in some 2.147 million total viewers on an evening dominated by the news of a leaked Supreme Court draft decision signaling the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Gutfeld broadcast Monday night with a live audience and from a new studio.
Despite the bombshell news Maddow only brought in 1.94 million total viewers to lead MSNBC in the ratings.
Meanwhile, Don Lemon Tonight led CNN with 689,000 total viewers.

Anything abortion related is not a ratings grabber. Despite the in-roads on the rights to privacy that are being made, which will have effects on everyone - many people would rather tune it out.
I'd bet the ratings for Rachel's individual shows where she drilled down diligently on the absurd restrictions being imposed on specific clinics, they probably lost a segment of her usual audience. I may have been among them on occasion.
If there were a way for this to be settled solely by people with uteri, including SCOTUS justices, I would support that wholeheartedly.

I know they are Republican voters, but how can so many not see right through a total charlatan like J.D. Vance? and all his Peter Thiel money.

WTF, Amy Walter on Moaning Joe?
The Anti-Rachel Lesbian sees an opportunity...
by Anonymous | reply 264 | May 4, 2022 12:20 PM |
John Heilemann looked soo HOT on Morning Joe this morning.
FUCKING SEXY BEAST!

[quote] The Anti-Rachel Lesbian sees an opportunity...
Looks a lot better and much less annoying shtick
by Anonymous | reply 266 | May 4, 2022 4:08 PM |
She is soooooo annoying. Bad haircuts and conservative. Kill it with fire.
by Anonymous | reply 267 | May 4, 2022 5:18 PM |
Bet JOHN HEILEMANN has a huge dick.

Saw Vaughn Hillyard make two mistakes earlier this hour on MTP Daily when, in his live remote from Ohio, he anointed Vance as Portman’s successor & then said that Portman had voted to convict Trump in his impeachment trial.

Is Nicolle Wallace preggers?
Was that a shotgun wedding?
by Anonymous | reply 270 | May 4, 2022 9:46 PM |
I doubt it. Seeing as she’s 50.
by Anonymous | reply 271 | May 4, 2022 10:46 PM |
[quote] Is Nicolle Wallace preggers?
This thought crossed my mind yesterday when there was a long shot of her from the side. Could be.
by Anonymous | reply 272 | May 4, 2022 11:23 PM |

That black blouse from yesterday was very suspicious. Today’s green confection did not squash the rumors.

[quote] Saw Vaughn Hillyard make two mistakes earlier this hour on MTP Daily
Vaughn was on the NBC nightly news just now claiming that JD Vance's win in Ohio "rattled Democrats" Vance was expected to win, I don't think it rattled anyone.
Oh Vaughn what is the matter with you?
by Anonymous | reply 274 | May 4, 2022 11:55 PM |
R274
Vaughn’s been hanging w/ Chuckie Todd & Andrea.
by Anonymous | reply 275 | May 5, 2022 12:43 AM |
I hope not, R270 -- she's 50 years old!
by Anonymous | reply 276 | May 5, 2022 1:01 AM |
She got her man she no longer needs to worry about her figure.
by Anonymous | reply 277 | May 5, 2022 1:08 AM |
If Mike Schmidt is the best she could do by keeping her looks, she might as well eat herself into a coma now.
by Anonymous | reply 278 | May 5, 2022 1:11 AM |
Nicolle has lost alot of weight since she premiered DWH.
It has definitely aged her….
by Anonymous | reply 279 | May 5, 2022 1:26 AM |
R279, pretty women seem to do that once they hit 40, for fear of losing their looks. Menopause slows the metabolism and women who are used to having a good figure tend to go nuts with exercise and diet to avoid getting "fat". Kelly Ripa is an extreme example of a woman who looked great until she became skeletal in her early 40s -- she appeared ill (still does) but was just obsessed with staying thin. The irony is that they'd look so much better with an extra 10 lbs!

[quote] Today’s green confection did not squash the rumors.
She actually looked a bit green around the gills mid-way through the program.
I wondered if she might be feeling a bit of morning sickness at 5 in the afternoon.

Joe Scarborough this morning talking about Trumpists:
"These people are, if I could quote Aristotle here, crazy as a shithouse rat."
by Anonymous | reply 282 | May 5, 2022 1:08 PM |
MSNBC would fire him if said anything even remotely otherwise. Then how could he possibly support himself and Mika?
by Anonymous | reply 283 | May 5, 2022 1:20 PM |
[quote]crazy as a shithouse rat
DING, DING, DING... I think we finally have a replacement for the GOP Elephant.
The Crazy Republican Shithouse Rat.
by Anonymous | reply 284 | May 5, 2022 2:36 PM |
Mika was giving Joe the side eye today.
Imagine what goes on in that house…Joe looks like a good fuck tho.
by Anonymous | reply 285 | May 5, 2022 7:13 PM |
Nicolle is interviewing her husband, Mike.
by Anonymous | reply 286 | May 5, 2022 9:14 PM |
Nicolle only seems to have her husband as an in studio guest in the first few minutes of her first hour. So does he just cool his heals wandering around the MSNBC studio until she is done some two hours later? Or does he go home and get dinner ready?
by Anonymous | reply 287 | May 5, 2022 9:32 PM |
He’s a reporter. He reports.
by Anonymous | reply 288 | May 5, 2022 9:35 PM |
Nancy Pelosi will be Nicolle's guest tomorrow.
by Anonymous | reply 289 | May 5, 2022 9:37 PM |
Where’s Nicolle’s bestie John Heilemann?
by Anonymous | reply 290 | May 5, 2022 9:53 PM |
Chuckie Todd just got replaced.
Go Chris Jansing.
by Anonymous | reply 291 | May 6, 2022 5:08 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 292 | May 6, 2022 5:09 PM |
Now do Andrea.
by Anonymous | reply 293 | May 6, 2022 5:16 PM |
He’s being relegated to streaming.
by Anonymous | reply 294 | May 6, 2022 5:55 PM |
Soo 11am or 9pm is open for Jen Psaki.
She is too big of a name for weekends like Symone.
by Anonymous | reply 295 | May 6, 2022 6:34 PM |
John Heilemann definitely has a big cock.
He is 6’5 and looks like a strapping beast.
by Anonymous | reply 297 | May 7, 2022 8:00 PM |
How long will Symone last?
She is already irritating me and she has only been on for a minute.
Who’s voice is worse—Symone or Tiffany Cross?
by Anonymous | reply 298 | May 7, 2022 9:01 PM |
But those bumptious titties of hers...
by Anonymous | reply 299 | May 7, 2022 9:10 PM |
They need to stop with all these Affirmative Action hires.
by Anonymous | reply 300 | May 7, 2022 9:26 PM |
This Symone Sanders show isn't going to do anything to strengthen MSNBC's weekend lineup. What were they thinking?
by Anonymous | reply 301 | May 7, 2022 9:38 PM |
What’s wrong with Symone’s ear?
by Anonymous | reply 302 | May 7, 2022 10:57 PM |
r300, and the white privilege hires. Started with Chuck Toad.
PLEASE keep Chris Hayes!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 303 | May 7, 2022 11:09 PM |
Where are the John Heilemann dick pics?
You know he definitely cheats on his wife and since she had cancer its a mercy marriage now.
by Anonymous | reply 304 | May 8, 2022 9:00 AM |
Nicolle Wallace better have Steve Schmidt on tomorrow. She is the only one who can really interview him about those twitter threads about McCain.
by Anonymous | reply 305 | May 8, 2022 3:17 PM |
Who’s gonna have Steve Schmidt on today?
by Anonymous | reply 306 | May 9, 2022 7:13 PM |
What’s that stuffed animal next to HOT Daniel Goldman?
by Anonymous | reply 307 | May 9, 2022 10:19 PM |
🙌 Yes Joy is doing the Steve Schmidt story.
Disappointed in Nicolle, she knew…
by Anonymous | reply 308 | May 10, 2022 12:48 AM |
Do not adjust your TV, Rachel is rocking a blue blazer.
by Anonymous | reply 309 | May 10, 2022 2:16 AM |
Rachel looks better in the studio with a professional makeup artist.
