Pheromone is a wonderful green chypre from the '70s. (A reviewer called it "Studio 54 in a bottle.") You can get the vintage dirt cheap on eBay—the current version isn't as good and it's overpriced.

From the '80s through the early '90s, she also owned the rights to the Robert Piguet perfumes (Fracas, Bandit, etc.) after RP shut down.

I knew someone who worked for her. She was never quite a household name but she did definitely have a dedicated following. Her warehouse and offices used to be just a few blocks from Oprah's studio, back in the early days when that area was Skid Row.

Neither of the Miglins were Jewish, R12. I remember reading in the book Vulgar Favours by by Maureen Orth that it was a common misconception about them, though.

I hope she wrote a memoir telling the real story of her closeted husband and why Cunanan murdered him, to be published upon her death. I've always been sad that part of the story remains unexplained.
