He got an Oscar nomination for "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice". Watched "Getting Straight" which was on recently, which had his very ,very hairy bod in scenes with a young Candice Bergen -- good film about protests at UC/Berkeley during Vietnam. I don't know what happened to Gould's career -- was it drugs or alchohol? Was it him becoming Norman Maine? His career was still going up as Barbara's zoomed though.

Didn't Babs reportedly do "What's Up, Doc?" to replace Elliot after the original plans to film "A Glimpse of Tiger" fell through partly due to Gould's cocaine addiction and unpredictable behavior at the time?
