Jan Hooks as Tina the Alamo tour guide in Pee Week’s Big Adventure

I think Jan as Tina the Alamo tour guide is comedy gold.

Pee Wee’s Big Adventure

I hate auto correct

This is the first work I saw of Jan Hooks. She was fantastic. I have loved her ever since.

by Anonymousreply 2February 25, 2022 6:50 PM

It's comedy gold because of the script, the director and the razor-sharp editing as well as the performers.

by Anonymousreply 3February 25, 2022 7:03 PM

Hilarious scene and movie.

TOR TEE YAH

There's no basement in the Alamo.

by Anonymousreply 6February 25, 2022 7:34 PM

I wonder if Inez and Pedro are still alive.

by Anonymousreply 7February 25, 2022 8:00 PM

R7, Pedro died at the Battle of San Jacinto.

Anytime I see the word Adobe, I think of this.

by Anonymousreply 9February 25, 2022 8:15 PM

My favorite thing about this scene is how genuinely fascinated the obviously Hispanic visitors are at her stupid spiel, and how they try to pronounce "adobe" with all the white people (as if they've never said it before).

Pee Week sounds like the next SF street fair.

Corn can be boiled, shucked, creamed…

by Anonymousreply 12February 25, 2022 8:33 PM

Eye-nez.

Pay-dro.

by Anonymousreply 13February 25, 2022 8:34 PM

"Yes, there are thousands and thousands of uses for corn... all of which I'm going to tell you about right now!"

by Anonymousreply 14February 25, 2022 8:36 PM

So young.

by Anonymousreply 15February 25, 2022 8:47 PM

So alive.

by Anonymousreply 16February 25, 2022 9:04 PM

Tits for beads!

I wet to Google and saw that this movie was done by that Tim Burton. It must have been done in the days before he became decadent, egotistical and obsessed with digital trickery.

Anyway, I thought this movie and Pee Wee were quite delightful.

I used to astound friends with my impressions of Tina The Alamo Tour Guide a La Jan Hooks.

by Anonymousreply 19February 25, 2022 10:23 PM

R19 me too. It’s fun and kind of exciting.

by Anonymousreply 20March 27, 2023 8:11 PM

I fail to see the humor in this scene 🤔

by Anonymousreply 21March 27, 2023 8:23 PM

I love this film. I also love the Netflix one, even though it's not on the same level.

Paul Reubens is extremely funny in real life too.

by Anonymousreply 22March 27, 2023 8:34 PM

R21 oh big surprise there.

by Anonymousreply 23March 27, 2023 8:36 PM

Tim Burton's best film. It's been an impressively steady and determined decline ever since.
