Sorry, Make-a-Wish Kid, but you're not a "Hollywood power couple."

I've never forgiven her for that 1,000 calorie a bowl chowder recipe.
But I love her really.

Wow, those are some A-list celebrities who will have everyone tuning in to watch.

If Julianna displays any of her famous cuntitude, Ina can fart in her general direction and then wave the back of her shent at her.

So will she pretend to be friends with these celebrities as well, or...

Is she releasing a new fragrance?

I hope Jeffrey makes an appearance in every episode, the producers giving him bits of business (opening the wine, answering the door, laying the table, sampling the sauce, etc.).

Apparently you "drop" a fragrance these days.

I hope Michael the Florist makes an appearance. He is one of us.

I wonder how she has a husband still living. She puts mountains of salt into everything, and every Friday she force feeds him a whole chicken.

Just caught this on HBO. Didn't even bother watching all the episodes, but the one with Faith Hill was kind of weird (like her manorexic husband actually eats that gross coca cola cake concoction), Stanley Tucci did his Stanley Tucci thing (which he is reasonably good at - I thought Ina was a bit intimidated by him) and Emily Blunt is just kind of dull. I actually like it better when they bring over her floridly gay friends that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground & she's trying to get them to cook with her.

Ina Garten makes me feel better. She's a reminder that there's always somebody lonelier and fatter than me.

Her hairstyle is just gross looking at her age. It looks like she hasn't washed it since 2004.

I don't know...she seems to live a pretty awesome life. Jeffrey just seems like a man baby and she does her own thing.
Some of her shortcuts are questionable (pre-sliced spiral cut ham?) , but I like how she emphasizes the importance of enjoying the moment & not freaking out over everything being perfect. She should appear on The Bear & tell the entire family to just get take out if cooking stresses them out & get the fuck over themselves.

Does she do that damn hollow chuckle at the end of every sentence when she has a guest? In her FN show she was annoying beyond belief with that nervous titter. Hee hee hee hee all day.

Greg, as someone who admires your tastemaking and patronage of this site, is it true that you use Google alerts every time your name is mentioned on DL?

She did seem rather nervous (Tucci made her particularly nervous), but these people were just there to spout their usual standard anecdotes and pitch whatever projects they were working on (like Faith Hill & that half-assed western she's on). She didn't bring along her daughter for a bit of levity (she seemed like a nice young woman, but didn't really inherit either parents good looks). That's why I think she should stick to the A gays of the Hamptons & leave the celebs alone. That's clearly not really her thing & she's not comfortable around them.

This is a bad idea.
Ina is famously introverted, and her celebrity comes from the cooking/business/catering world in Connecticut and the Upper West Side. She doesn't swim in the same lane as typical celebrities.
She writes cookbooks, and used to write the nation's nuclear power policy. What would she talk about with Reese Witherspoon or Jim Parsons or Khloe Kardashian? Their world is so utterly meaningless to a woman like Ina Garten.
