Richard Benjamin was quite a good actor - He and She, Goodbye Columbus, The Sunshine Boys, Westworld, Portnoy's Complaint, Diary of a Mad Housewife - but he was never considered sexy, desirable or even a "leading man" such other ethnics like Dustin Hoffman and Elliott Gould (for a year) were in the 1970s.

The line where Raquel Welch calls Benjamin "the world's most attractive man" in The Last of Sheila, got big laughs in the movie theater where I saw it in 1973.

Richard Benjamin had a perfectly acceptable, normal, thin, body. He would NEVER show those pecs on screen if here were that age in 2022.
