Omg it looks so fucking funny! That last shot with Brad Pitt flipping his hair as they run, I practically fell over laughing lmao. Daniel Radcliffe as the villain? I’m down.
Sandy can do no wrong!

OMG, OP! What are you wearing when you go! Should we do our hair different or coordinate outfits!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 11, 2022 12:56 AM |
This. Looks. Awful.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 11, 2022 12:57 AM |
Is this based on an older movie by a similar title?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 11, 2022 12:57 AM |
I feel like Sandra Bullock's control freak career woman shtick is wearing a bit thin.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 11, 2022 12:59 AM |
Looks to me like it's based on Romancing the Stone.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 11, 2022 12:59 AM |
Is Sandra going to go on TV and bitch about how unfair Hollywood is to her?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 11, 2022 1:01 AM |
Why would she? She’s one of the highest paid women in Hollywood
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 11, 2022 1:04 AM |
It looks cute. Hollywood used to make lots of fun, star-driven action movies.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 11, 2022 1:13 AM |
They offered this to me.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 11, 2022 1:15 AM |
First time I’ve seen Brad in this type of rom com movie must be desperate for money with all these lawsuits and child custody drama.

Not every star takes things because they need money.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 11, 2022 1:22 AM |
They probably paid him $5 million for 2 weeks of filming. What's there to say no to?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 11, 2022 1:23 AM |
[quote] "Looks to me like it's based on Romancing the Stone."
With a little "Raiders Of The Lost Ark", and "Stand By Me" leeches thrown in. It sounds as if the "Raiders" bit with the snakes may be a direct reference.
Anyway, Radcliffe looks hot as fuck with the beard and three piece suit. And Tatum looks like Tatum. I want to pat him on the head. I'd love to see Radcliffe shirtless in this, but I don't see it happening, ultimately.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 11, 2022 1:25 AM |
I love Channing Tatum. One of my favorite Tauruses.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 11, 2022 1:26 AM |

No, r19. I’m not. I thought that you were trying to type “releasing”. Sorry.

Their faces look like they've had more fillers than Madonna, or the CGI is working overtime.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 11, 2022 2:04 AM |
I will watch anything with Channing Tatum.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 11, 2022 2:05 AM |
Interesting that Sandra is almost 60 and she is playing the very physical role 30-year-old Kathleen Turner played.
Who says progress isn't being made?

I think it looks funny. Like 1995 funny. But funny. I'll read the reviews and determine my opinion based on other people's opinions, who watched the movie, because this is 2022, and no one's opinion really matters!

I'll probably hate watch it some boring Saturday afternoon.

Sandra Bullock’s “The Heat” (2013) with Melissa McCarthy is a guilty pleasure of mine. And Netflix’s “The Unforgivables” (2021) wasn’t. She plays a darker persona and it wasn’t bad.

An old leading lady with a male stripper love interest is progress because it flips Hollywood's eternal paradigm of old leading men such as Harrison Ford and homely Michael Douglas romancing and preposterously being stalked by 25 year-olds.
I'm OK with it.
But I do think Bullock and JLo take it a bit far.
I remember when Gravity came out and it was hailed as a brilliant movie that accurately depicted space travel conditions, etc. All I remember is 50-year-old Sandra Bullock floating around in her bra and panties for 10 minutes and then crashing to Earth and washing up on a beach safely. It was a stupid movie and it totally objectified her surgically preserved body. Why couldn't she just have been an astronaut in a space suit?

looks like lots of fun. Additional premiere/sneak preview screenings happening. Its a sign the studio WANTS people to see the movie and tell their friends it was great.
I miss sneak previews, if only because it was a guarantee the movie was good, the studio was confident people would like it, and they wanted to get the word out.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 15, 2022 9:13 PM |
It would have to get really, really, really good reviews for me to see Channing Tatum in anything.

r67 "My god what happened to cinema!??"
A lot! Its business model—as we knew it—is collapsing and the media conglomerates are now—more than ever—in charge...and they have a stranglehold on creativity...
Sadly, one would have thought that the surfeit of streaming services and abundance of working talent would have resulted in a long tail effect, i.e. "something for everyone." A genre for every demographic. Instead, Hollywood is being Hollywood: going after the lowest common denominator and looking for the one blockbuster that will impact their annual bottom line.
Before Covid-19, streaming (and bingeing) was already creating a relentless demand for new content. So quality was suffering. Anything with even a hint of brand recognition was—and still is—fodder for a reboot or remake.
Then, Covid-19 accelerated the long-dying theatre business. The impact of being unable to depend on those gigantic opening weekend box office numbers has been enormous.
"After" Covid / when production resumed, we had new costly budget line items (Covid protocols) as well as unexpected Covid-related shooting delays.
On the creative side, studios are more cautious than ever: "me too" and DEI initiatives have created a filter that goes over just about every production, to the detriment of story.
As far as the spectacle aspects of moviemaking...what used to separate it from network television, it will be more and more rare to have location shooting and large crowd scenes due to Covid concerns and budget concerns. CGI will replace some of that, but (excellent-looking) CGI is still costly.
Then, actors of all ages shapes and sizes want to work and the playpen is far too small and competitive....plus there are far too many of them so they do anything, regardless of its quality.
Also, the talent pool of auteur directors is aging out or dying. It takes a lot to stand up to all of the above and it used to be a strong director. The generation of directors now hitting their stride want to work so they bend to authority.
Finally: audiences are changing. Expectations of scripted entertainment are different among a younger audience than older. Expectations of situations, tone, pacing, dialogue, humor, effects...all changing. Dialogue some protagonists spoke merely 5 years ago would now be considered "mean" or "misogynistic" or "bullying" or "aggressive."
Even the definition of what a movie actually is is changing. Younger audiences may not recognize the difference between something they watch on their phones and something they watch on their televisions. If you take movie theaters out of their range of experience, then what? If you're producing a movie and you know your audience watches it on a tiny screen, why are you allowing the director to do a location shoot in Paris?
It's all very dreary but it is precisely where we were headed and where we are now. It's a business—a very conservative, cautious, and risk-averse business.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | May 14, 2022 8:18 PM |
It was not funny (except for Brad Pitt). Sandra is trying to be young and perfect looking and Chatum is not that good of an actor.

by Anonymous | reply 84 | May 15, 2022 3:20 AM |
This movie had really long legs at the box office. It will get a lot of views when it hits streaming. It's somewhere between not all that funny and terrible.
Sandra Bullock's face no longer moves. She looks like herself until she starts speaking and then it gets sad. And Tatum's character has only one goal - to make her see him as an acceptable love interest. He's in love with her and she thinks of him as a himbo. She's about 15 years older than him in real life which i guess isnt a big deal but her character is a bitch and we see him naked so its kind of playing to her ego.
Daniel Radcliffe is the only funny character in the movie. great performance as the villain
by Anonymous | reply 85 | May 15, 2022 3:47 AM |
Sandra never has sexual chemistry with her male costars. Hmmmmm
by Anonymous | reply 86 | May 15, 2022 4:27 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 89 | May 15, 2022 5:33 AM |
Sandra looked really odd lying flat on her back, don't want to spoil the scene but her face looked puffy and weird
by Anonymous | reply 90 | May 15, 2022 5:38 AM |
I guess R80 still thinks this is 2021: "As far as the spectacle aspects of moviemaking...what used to separate it from network television, it will be more and more rare to have location shooting and large crowd scenes due to Covid concerns..."
Also, while it's true that there are some young(er) woke-ish types that are too triggered by any sort of joke or line that may suggest an insult, they're IN THE MINORITY BY FAR.
Just check the reviews on IMDB, or even HERE. Almost all the negatives for any film, are critical of Hwood being waaaaay too politically correct, and this film proves that some still just want to laugh.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | May 16, 2022 12:29 AM |

I see the leeches scene as more *African Queen*. There are a lot of influences/allusions in this movie—rip-offs, if you must, but the movie doesn't really aim high enough for rip-offs.
