He had such a lean, tight body that was incredibly sexy. He wasn't classically handsome, but I found the rugged masculinity of his face so attractive.

He was hotter than hell! He was best in “All That Jazz”. He was perfectly cast as Bob Fosse. Richard Dreyfuss turned it down, thank God.

He was also in Friedkin's Sorcerer. I think he had a more successful career than most. Big fan of his.

Roy Scheider looks like every other white 30some married man in the late 70's to 1985 who I had sex with in adult bookstores, peepshows, adult theatres in Philly, NYC, Chicago, Baltimore& Wash DC.

He was very, very good in that Law & Order C.I. story arc. Really good.

Let's not forget the completely forgotten and wholly underrated film of Elmore Leonard's "52 Pick-Up" with Ann-Margret and a startling, magnificent John Glover, directed by John Frankenheimer. Amazing little gem.

He was great in The Myth of Fingerprints. Plays the patriarch of a family whose kids are all adults now, and he's losing it a bit. Also the flashbacks to the Thanksgiving a few years earlier, he's just so good.

He had The NY Times, I had the LA Times and we’d switch sections as we read. We never talked much but he seemed like a nice guy.

He was great in 2010, the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey, taking over the role of Heywood Floyd from William Sylvester.

So Klute, French Connection, Jaws, Marathon Man, and All That Jazz, for which he should have won best actor. That's a very good run.

I like Last Embrace but he and Janet Margolin are an odd romantic couple.
