I wonder what it's like to be a cast/ crew on a show like "Blue Bloods" where the lead is an olddd with age-related/ (not publicized) medical-related... Obstructions. Lots of cbs crime shows for the Ethel-aged viewers have an olddd leading man.

The former CSI (William Petersen), NCIS (Mark Harmon 69, then Gary Cole 65 as the lead now). I personally love old daddies and fit Gary Cole is my favorite. But it must be an impediment on 12 hour long set days everyday.

I remember him on Magnum as affable in addition to being handsome. He'd smile and laugh (kind of a goofy giggle that was endearing because it didn't match his looks). He was pretty charming. But for years now anytime I see a picture of him, he's scowling. What's up with that? Who does his sour grumpiness appeal to?

He’s almost 80. The wheezing isn’t that bad and is mostly at the beginning. And, as R19 points out, a taller, heavier man having knee problems is not unexpected, in a basketball player it’s almost expected.

Hot when young with no mustache. Google a TS picture on a beach, Tight speedos with nice VPL, hairy chest, a big grin on his unmustached youthful handsome face, I think a towel around his neck, he's a super F I N E sexy man in that image. R34, Mercedes McCambridge was an alcoholic who'd start drinking a 9AM for most of her adult life. I'm sure that was a major factor in how good/bad a mother she was.

I'll never understand celebrities who owe their good fortune to looks plodding on forever as if their public demands it of them.

In a case where someone lost all their money or had an unbelievable offer for a windfall, sure, but people like Ted Fans on, a thin talent at best doing series after series after series.... Why does he do it? Why do people keep offering him projects as if broadcast network TV were still a thing?

Recognizing when one's time has come and gone or is about to do is such a rare thing that it's the rare exception that should be the rule that startles.

It was either Blue Bloods or an OnlyFans.

Actors (at least some of them) still act long after they should retire for the same reasons they got into the business initially - ego and the constant need for validation and recognition. And they usually have managers and agents who keep finding them increasingly questionable gigs since it puts money in their own pockets. You have to admire those actors who know when to step out of the spotlight.

Actually Blue Bloods is respectable work. He's pretty good in it although yes, once you notice I, he clearly has mobility issues.

Will Estes who plays Jamie is cute and very private about his personal life. The guy who plays Joe, the new Reagan, had some shirtless scenes recently and has a great body.

I bet Selleck would say he keeps agreeing to come back to keep the cast and crew employed. But this season it seems they are slowly leading to an end. I wonder if they might try to have the Chief spot given to his son Jamie and Selleck only showing up at the dinner table bits. (They tape all the season dinner table scenes on the same day.)

Network tv shows shoot seven to eight pages of a script per day, that's it.

Dinner table scenes with lots of actors are a total chore as the camera has to be reset enough to get coverage of everyone speaking and their reaction shots, they take quite a long time.

I'd say they might shoot them all back to back, but it would takes a lot longer than one day to shoot a season's worth of them.

I had totally forgotten they rebooted Magnum in a new series.

The rebooted Magnum was nonetheless a ratings success and ran for several years but it's been canceled too.

I don't like watching the meal scenes on TV shows, where you can clearly see that the actors are playing with their food, putting empty fork-fuls of nothing into their mouths and fake chewing. In just about every episode of The Big Bang Theory, they are sharing a meal and fake eating.

If they shoot all of the dinner scenes for this show all at once, that is a lot of fake eating on screen.

I'd bet it's bad knees and leg neuropathy.

Especially the women r68. They take a tiny bite of their handheld food (ok, snacking scenes, not dinner scenes), and that's all they bite. It takes you out of the scene as you know all actresses (and actors too) are watching their ounces.

R50, I worked with a guy in about 1980 who blithely said he was picked up by Selleck on Madison Ave in NYC. I have always suspected his marriage was funny because his wife was hardly a match for a Hollywood hunk.

I know of no instance where you could label him as an antisemite or homophobe. He did make a funny movie with Kevin Kline called ‘In and Out’ not that the flick proves he’s closeted.

I'm watching Selleck in the the "Jesse Stone" movie series- 9 movies or more. Made for TV but good in a "big city detective moves to a sleepy seaside town and then the bodies start piling" kind of way. It's like Cabot Cove with a testosterone injection. Viola Davis is in at least the first 4. Selleck is a total stud and women believably throw themselves at his character. I'm like "do me first, Magnum!!"
