You heard him, R1. Go alienate yourself.

How can I dislike Jerry Seinfeld so intensely yet absolutely adore Larry David?
Good for him on not pandering to the MAGAt crowd.

Meanwhile, he employs Vince Vaughn.

R1 one must survive in the environment one finds oneself.

This has made me love him. Now I hate Seinfeld - because it feels like good Larry David humor buried behind Seinfeld’s smarmy delivery.

R9 Does Seinfeld pander to the MAGAt crowd?

After binging CYE for the first time recently, it made me question what Jerry actually brought to the table on Seinfeld.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 25, 2022 7:32 AM |
Jerry was the "cute" one. Larry could never have.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 25, 2022 8:14 AM |
You’re absolutely right, R1 - Larry’s the divisive one.
🙄

R12 I never liked Seinfeld's standup. Curb was a revelation. Everything funny about the Seinfeld show is David's humor and sensibility.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 25, 2022 8:50 AM |
When you have "fuck you" money like Larry David, it's easy to say.

Very well put by Mr. David.

Jerry is arrogant. You have to be Jewish to appreciate that in him.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 25, 2022 1:59 PM |
Larry has taken funny jabs at the Jewish-comedy thing on Curb recently. The Hulu exec makes every possible reference in conversation to being Jewish, and when Larry leaves his office, he's like "he's one of THOSE Jews. Why does he have to do that?" And other times, he rolls his eyes and complains that Jewish comedians always have to go for the classic Jewish-brand comedy.
He's totally irreverent. He is more popular than ever, his show is funnier than ever, and he totally flies in the face of anyone's claims that no one can make an irreverent joke without being canceled. The most recent season took aim at pratically every sensitivr group, even dedicating an episode to black people being self-conscious about eating watermelon, and no one holds it against him.

R1 believes the MAGA hat is all about uniting America.

He’s hilarious but that pussy episode made me so uncomfortable I couldn’t watch the whole episode. Sort of the point I guess?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 25, 2022 2:08 PM |
R26 I used to have a very hard time watching Curb and now I LOVE watching it.
I was sad when the new season ended and I decided to go back and watch from the beginning.
The series is much better now than it used to be. The actors didn't have a great flow, their characters were underdeveloped, and it seems like the emphasis was more on causing discomfort than on creating laughs.
It has gotten much funnier and easy to watch over time without becoming any less offensive or gross.
I was grossed out throughout the vag episode, too, but everyone on the show is so funny I still enjoyed it.
The Hulu series "The Great" is great, but it seems like every third line is about cunnilingus, and it's almost enough of a turn off to me to make me turn the show off. But I have watched both series to the end.

Larry David...Well, all I can say is where is Dennis Pennis when we need him..substitute Larry David for Steve Martin & you'll see what I mean.

Meh. MAGA is so 2017. It's hardly edgy to criticize it. That's easy.

R29, to be fair, Larry David said that in February 2020. The season of Curb where he made fun of the MAGA hat was shot back in 2019.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 27, 2022 6:16 AM |
I agree with previous posters. Curb illuminated everything that Larry David brought to Seinfeld, and highlighted that Jerry himself brought nothing but hair and delivery.
I never liked his stand up, and he's a terrible actor.

I watched Seinfeld last night on channel 11 in NY and laughed as loudly as I did when I first saw the episode of Puddy painting his face, jumping on the hood of a priest’s car screaming “DEVILS! We’re THE DEVILS! YAAAAAHHHH!”
