I wonder if he’ll go full frontal…

That's gonna take some filters.

He'll shoot his eye out!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 20, 2022 11:52 PM |
Yeah, this time he’ll want some kind of dangerous atomic dildo from the 1950s.

It looks like Melinda Dillon hasn't acted in 15 years, but I hope they at least offered her the chance to reprise her part before replacing her with Julie Hagerty.

Guessing Ralphie will now be Raphaela.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 21, 2022 12:12 AM |
They already did a sequel about ten years back.

Melinda Dillon's 80s hair always confused me because the film supposed to be set in the 1940s.

I thought the lamp shocked her.

Will they get the little porno perv to stick his tongue to another pole?

I hope not. They're quite striking, and absolutely mesmerizing, as you can see in R4's linked photo. And I think the rest of him is really hot. He has the "cute/adorable AND hot" thing happening...which I love.
[quote] "I wonder if he’ll go full frontal…"
I wish it was that kind of film.

Cute, but I understand he’s now a libertarian like his buddy Vince Vaughn.

Also: I was hoping the director would ask "A Christmas Story" costume designer Mary McLeod to design the costumes for the sequel. But I'm not sure that will happen.
Director Clay Kaytis (who is cute, by the way) worked with Oscar-nominated costume designer Luis Sequeira (nommed for "The Shape Of Water"), when he directed his only other big live-action film "The Christmas Chronicles" (which I admit, I avoided). It may be that Sequeira gets the job, and a position on Kaytis' team.
That being said, if it doesn't happen for McLeod, I wouldn't mind Sequeira. He's worked with Guillermo del Torro multiple times. I'm just not interested in an Atwood or Powell take on this material.

What’s the math on the year it would take place based on his age and the time period of the movie?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 21, 2022 3:47 AM |
I read an article that it will take place in the 70s.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 21, 2022 3:57 AM |
I read a different article but it says the 70s setting in the OP's article. Based on the actors age I thought it would be 80s. He is around 40 years older.

Hmmm wonder what toy his kid or grandkid will desperately want from that time period.

Republican.

Peter Billingsley has to be 50, not 40.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 21, 2022 7:00 AM |
Billingsley is 50 years old. Ralphie was nine years old in the original. If they try to keep his age comparable to Billingsley, the movie should be set about 40 years after the first one. The first one is set in 1939 or 1940. So if the new one takes place in the late 70s, they'll be in the ballpark.

Which characters will be black?

"Production is set to start at the end of February in Bulgaria."
Because Bulgaria looks so much like Cleveland, OH.

This could probably be good if the right people were involved. It won't be, though.

There were some great if bizarre toys in the 70s.
