He was pushed and pushed and now is an embarrassment.
Why Did Craig Bierko Fail So Miserably
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 19, 2022 3:34 PM |
Who? And hopefully he doesn't take the subway in NYC!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 17, 2022 3:56 PM |
we never heard what really happened when he 'left' Broadway's Matilda so fast
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 17, 2022 3:57 PM |
Yeah, I never quite bought the injury story, R2. He's an odd duck, I used to watch his Twitter live streams and he's a little out there.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 17, 2022 3:58 PM |
OP I don't know her!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 17, 2022 5:44 PM |
His goofy last name.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 17, 2022 7:29 PM |
I used to know someone with the last name Bjerkin. Small world!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 17, 2022 8:18 PM |
I'd argue that he failed because he was the poorman's substitute for Brendan Fraser.
He looked so much like him that a casual observer wouldn't know the difference, so when Fraser's career stalled, his did also.
Similar to why Marilyn Monroe's death spelled career death for the likes of Jayne Mansfield.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 17, 2022 8:26 PM |
R7 is the kind of person who always cites that mysterious "casual observer" that she's imagined to prove her argument.
Please.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 17, 2022 8:32 PM |
Does Craig owe you money, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 17, 2022 8:43 PM |
Jayne Mansfield was well able to derail her own career, R7. And Brendan Fraser wasn't big enough to cause damage to another person's career like that.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 17, 2022 8:46 PM |
It was the Porkpie hat.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 17, 2022 8:47 PM |
[quote]Similar to why Marilyn Monroe's death spelled career death for the likes of Jayne Mansfield.
The era of the 1950s blonde bombshell was already coming to an end before both Marilyn died, as all eras do. Audrey Hepburn was a major star in the early 1960s and couldn't have been more different from Monroe, Mansfield and the rest.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 17, 2022 8:53 PM |
I went to college with Craig. He was always a bit withdrawn
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 17, 2022 8:56 PM |
Audrey was a star from 1953 when she won her Oscar for "Roman Holiday". There was room for both she and Marilyn as box-office stars back throughout the 50s and into the 1960s. Marilyn was still employed on "Something's Got to Give" when she died, so work certainly hadn't dried up.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 17, 2022 8:57 PM |
Marilyn was FIRED from Something's Got to Give a mere few months before she died.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 17, 2022 9:00 PM |
Pussy.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 17, 2022 9:01 PM |
[quote]Marilyn was still employed on "Something's Got to Give" when she died, so work certainly hadn't dried up.
There was only one Marilyn. Jayne Mansfield, Mamie Van Doren and the rest of the copycats never got anywhere near her level of stardom.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 17, 2022 9:04 PM |

Exactly my point. Monroe's death was the final death knell of the blonde bombshell era. After he death, they ran from that image to disassociate themselves since her death at the time was hardly glamorous.
As for Bierko and Fraser, the point is not that Fraser was so big (by the way, he was big at the time his career tanked), but that he was the most famous of that particular type.

[quote]I'd argue that he failed because he was the poorman's substitute for Brendan Fraser.
He was a poor man's Ben Affleck.

[quote]His goofy last name
Yeah, he needed to change that
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 17, 2022 10:38 PM |
Because after replies it’s already clear that people would rather talk about Marilyn Monroe and Brendan Fraser.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 17, 2022 10:41 PM |
^after 20
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 17, 2022 10:41 PM |
Valerie Bertinelli messed up his career and Matthew Perry used his connection with Valerie to steal his part of Chandler from him.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 17, 2022 10:46 PM |
I thought he turned down the role on Friends?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 17, 2022 11:00 PM |
Bierko suffers from some significant mental illness.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 17, 2022 11:02 PM |
Marilyn was FIRED from Something's Got to Give a mere few months before she died.
Yes, she was. But Dean Martin had costar approval and refused to accept anyone else. She was rehired in a new deal that included her starring in What a Way to Go and shooting was set to resume that fall.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 17, 2022 11:15 PM |
I kind of wondered about that, R26. Sad. He seems like a good person with struggles.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 17, 2022 11:16 PM |
I saw Bierko in Matilda and it was beyond painful. One of the worst replacement performances I’ve ever witnessed. Bertie was such a scream in the role and Bierko was completely at sea. I don’t think a single joke landed.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 17, 2022 11:17 PM |
Does anyone else wonder if his Chandler would have ended up with Nancy McKeon's Monica?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 17, 2022 11:18 PM |
He was excellent as Harold Hill in the first major Broadway revival of The Music Man in 2000.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 17, 2022 11:20 PM |
I saw Bierko years ago on stage - I think it was in some completely underwhelming off-Broadway production.
IIRC it co-starred Molly Ringwald and Jason Biggs.
The play was a stinker, and Bierko was not good, to say the least.
In fact, he looked like he was bored and would rather have been anywhere else.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 17, 2022 11:20 PM |
lost his boyish good looks too soon. Fraser too.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 17, 2022 11:23 PM |
He was on David E. Kelley's Boston Legal, which quickly became a spaghetti thrown at the wall experiment with big name co-stars on limited contracts--Tom Selleck, Heather Locklear, Delta Burke, Katey Segal, Michael J. Fox.....
Anyway, he was a staff lawyer at the firm so he could have become a series regular. Instead, they wrote him off very abruptly. I think it was even before some of the storylines he was part of wrapped up.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 17, 2022 11:44 PM |
Remind me ... who was his long term boyfriend?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 17, 2022 11:55 PM |
Maybe he does have mental issues, R34.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 17, 2022 11:56 PM |
He was on Sex and the City as Carrie's ADHD fuck buddy who gave her the best orgasm she ever had. I think they only went on 2 dates(?) the episode was ok but Carrie did her usual screeching and silly antics
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 18, 2022 12:05 AM |
Bierko was with Frances Ruffelle, the original Eponine, for years.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 18, 2022 3:59 PM |
Not sure what the issue is, but it wasn't Bierko's huge penis.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 18, 2022 4:02 PM |
Are we to presume you've experienced that penis, R40?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 18, 2022 7:24 PM |
He used to see a therapist in my Greenwich Village apartment building.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 18, 2022 7:46 PM |
Was there only ever one episode of 'Bathing with Bierko'? The one where he interviews John Malkovich, and they're both in a bathtub?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 19, 2022 1:46 AM |
What the hell was this show anyway!? I never actually saw an episode. . .
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 19, 2022 4:22 AM |
According to the LAST Bierko thread, the dude has truly STANK breath.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 19, 2022 4:38 AM |
Didn’t he also date DL fave Janeane Garafolo?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 19, 2022 4:39 AM |
He did indeed R46
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 19, 2022 4:40 AM |
Sour Grapes was supposed to make him a star. Even his co-star Stephen Weber ended up with a longer career.

Few people did. "Sydney" ran for three months in the spring of 1990.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 19, 2022 8:14 AM |
The large cock is but a rumor, but it checks out (Polish background).
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 19, 2022 3:01 PM |
My sincere advice to Craig is that he should only smile with his mouth closed.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 19, 2022 3:26 PM |
He looks very similar to Hunter Biden.
Would the hotness and big D be worth the possible manic depressiveness and drama?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 19, 2022 3:28 PM |
Yikes, looks a little frightening there, R51. Bierko seems like good person, if he does have mental health issues I hope he's getting the help he needs.
No, 52.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 19, 2022 3:30 PM |
[quote]He was a poor man's Ben Affleck.
Which begs the question: Does a rich man even need a Ben Affleck?
