Peter O’Toole’s Hollywood career, before Lawrence of A, was DOA when his voice In Nick Ray’s The Savage Innocents was dubbed. Insulted, he had his name removed from the credits. His meteoric rise, fall, and resurrection bottomed out in a series of boring “steady-old-boy” thankless British gentlemen roles and finally came full circle, when his voice, in his very last acting role, a two-minute cameo in a VOD piece of shit entitled, Diamond Cartel, was dubbed once more. Don’t know if Pete was senile, or his greedy handler’s wanted to squeeze every last dime out of his cadaverous quiddity, but to see this ( and fortunately no one has), humiliation is utterly heartbreaking…. To see Laurence Olivier’s unwatchable performance as General MacArthur in Inchon is pitiful, distressing, and appallingly pathetic. You want to look away. I only hope they chose to do these roles because they could not stop working and wanted something to keep them active and in the game. If it was their greedy handlers, it is a form of elderly abuse that should be a cautionary tale for any artist, actor, or not.
Peter O’Toole and Laurence Olivier's elder abuse. Sad, depressing, and utterly avoidable.
