Martin's Marvin Gaye biopic did go into production but very sadly ran out of money before it could be completed. It KILLS me, because as you can see from the trailer at the link, he would have been absolutely perfect.

Seriously? It happens ALL the time. Investors who promise money don't always come through with their payments. If the production is lucky, it's able to raise the needed amount of cash in time to keep the food trucks on site, the hotels where the cast and crew paid, finish post-production, etc. But this movie apparently didn't get lucky.
