Only a few true icons of classic TV left
Carol Burnett is the last superstar left.
We also still have Dick van Dyke and Bob Newhart.
And then......? I can't think of anyone else.
Knowing the casts of both MTM and Golden Girls are all gone just really puts the most final exclamation point on my childhood, and an entire era.

I agree, OP. For some reason this year's holiday season has made me feel especially ancient. Betty's passing only exacerbates that feeling.

Even though he's not old, I think Ron Howard is a valid entry to submit for this list. The man has two classic TV roles on his resume.

A lot of the people mentioned on this thread are not "icons." They were on tv shows from long ago but were not icons. There's nothing "iconic" about the "Brady kids" for instance.
Clint Eastwood is NOT an "icon" of "classic tv!" He's a movie star, one of the biggest there ever was. Nobody considers him a "tv icon."

R52 I would disagree. The Brady Bunch has become iconic. When your show is still being aired, 50 years after it debuted, your reunion episode is considered a holiday classic, and the rights holders are still pumping out new content and merchandise you qualify for iconic status. They became and have remained America’s family. I would classify the surviving casts of The Waltons and Little House similarly but they aren’t as iconic as the Bradys.
