Brad Pitt is now 58

Today is his birthday.

I don't think he looks good with long hair. I found his character and his Fabio hair so annoying in Legends of the Fall and he looked weird and sexless in Interview with the Vampire. He looked his best to me in Thelma and Louise, Fight Club, Seven, Cool World and River Runs Through It. Shorter hair frames his face better and emphasizes his jawline. He looked pretty hot and sexy in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood like fine wine.

Ive long been over him. Especially after the never ending Angelina feud . Overexposure is a word for a reason.

by Anonymousreply 6December 18, 2021 11:22 PM

He was interesting in the 90s with his choice of filmography. He's wisely returning to indie and art film style roles and producing. His relationships with Jen Aniston and Angelina Jolie were overexposed and all of them aired their dirty laundry and exploited that love-triangle-feud nonsense forever and still do. He at his core is a Okie hustler who turned male tricks before getting onto the big screen. He thought slutting up to young and promising female actresses (Gwyneth, Aniston and Jolie) would help his career. It did but also backfired miserably and took a toll on his mental health. He seems like a dumb simple hick but he is very calculating and ambitious. He said in an interview, he was determine to get out of his bumblefuck town and become something.

His handsomeness has always been vastly overstated. I don’t know how he became everyone’s idea of the world’s sexiest man, to the point that he was even every straight guy’s idea of male perfection.

Anyway, his best quality is his bisexuality.

[quote] His handsomeness has always been vastly overstated. I don’t know how he became everyone’s idea of the world’s sexiest man, to the point that he was even every straight guy’s idea of male perfection.

I think straight men only liked him for Fight Club (ironic as it was satire on toxic masculinity and capitalism) and having Angelina Jolie (straight boy's wet dream of the 2000s). I don't think they think much about male actors in general compared to women and gays.

He's been a fantasy for straight girls and has been since the early 90s just like Depp and DiCaprio. For gay men it's hit or miss as we have a wide range of tastes and we can be more rigid since as men, we are more visual and less about the public persona. For some he's too pretty and feminine looking, to others too rednecky and to others too white and pale. I don't get the arguments or antagonism over not agreeing on attractiveness. But you can call someone attractive and not be attracted to them too.

by Anonymousreply 24December 19, 2021 9:31 PM

I'd argue that DiCaprio, 10 years younger than Pitt, is the last true movie star.

by Anonymousreply 25December 19, 2021 9:36 PM

His body was a fucking beast in Troy. A sex beast. Was he still married to Jennifer Aniston then? If she she must have been driven into fits of ecstasy every time he mounted her when he had that body.

by Anonymousreply 26December 19, 2021 9:40 PM

Yes. DiCaprio is a better example of the last Hollywood star. DiCaprio also never really overexposed himself and he's always been very selective about his roles. Very similar to Tom Cruise. Cruise and DiCaprio may be shitty people but they get people into theaters and they still have a mystique to them. They are still box office gold. Brad Pitt and Keanu Reeves were LA studio backlot hoes who got lucky. I think both are known as very nice guys in Hollywood and they maintained their looks which helped get them roles. But careerwise both peaked in the 90s and early 2000s. Brad and Keanu now both went the indie and artsy route which generates interest but they aren't huge stars anymore. Brad basically became a tabloid punching bag (self-inflicted on his part) throughout the later 2000s and early 2010s.

by Anonymousreply 27December 19, 2021 9:45 PM

Pitt is a beauty.

Golden Age of Hollywood Star Robert Taylor was a beauty. Just watch the opening shot of "Waterloo Bridge" for his close-up.

I don't know if Pitt abused his children with Jolie. I tend to think not. But I do know Jolie was probably bored outta her fucking mind with him.

Could Brad play mentally challenged like Leo could in Gilbert Grape or a convincing junkie whore in The Basketball Diaries? I think they're both overrated though but Leo is clearly the better actor and remains so. Brad was pretty awful in Legends of the Fall while Henry Thomas was great. He was good in Fight Club but Edward Norton was way better. Seven was all Morgan Freeman's performance while Brad was just there and even Gwyneth acted better too. His role in Kalifornia was one of his because he didn't need to use much imagination for it. He came from rural Oklahoma and likely saw that type of antisocial, drug-addicted trailer trash. Probably was triggering a role for him.

Yellow skin is a term used to refer to people of Native American descent. You'll hear it mostly from black Americans and lesser among Native American Indians, almost never among other racial groups or nationalities. It's an older term that has hung-on for whatever reason among certain groups.

And Brad Pitt is not an Okie, he's from Springfield, MO. He may have some ties to OK, but I'm pretty sure he was raised in Springfield. Oddly, all of my family that lives or did live in Springfield were from OK and were actually of NA descent, not the fake kind, the real kind. No idea if Pitt is NA or not.

by Anonymousreply 45December 20, 2021 10:33 PM

He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma but they moved to Springfield, Mo. shortly after his birth and he was raise there.

by Anonymousreply 47December 20, 2021 10:39 PM

Yes, it's a thing.

Go to the first question," How To Describe Native American Skin?" I was unable to find an example of it being used casually, but yes, it exists.

I've had two separate family members tell me how they were described regarding their skin color as children, which would have been back in the 40s or so. I'm not going to repeat the exact term used here. Both were highly disturbed by it. Neither were people who were easily offended.

R48, are your family members Native American?

by Anonymousreply 49December 20, 2021 11:07 PM

Yes, although I am not NA. One side has been part of the family since before I was born. Another side came along when I was a teenager.

Oddly both of the people from those families that I got along with best were older women, both were amazing, and both were the ones who told me the stories about what their lives were like as children. They never knew each other, but a lot of their stories overlap. As an even stranger aside, both wore dentures due to lack of dental care as children. Not sure why I threw that part in there, but it's true.

by Anonymousreply 54December 20, 2021 11:42 PM

Forgot to add to my post at r52-

I've heard the term "Yellow Skin" as a slur about Asian people who are of, well, Asia.

by Anonymousreply 55December 20, 2021 11:44 PM

That's funny because I've heard within the past 2 years, again it was from an American black person. I had him repeat it to make sure. It's not common, but yes, it is and has been a thing towards NA. If you think black Americans aren't hyper aware of and discuss different skin tones, you do not hang out with many black people.

by Anonymousreply 67December 21, 2021 1:47 AM

Very funny, R66. There are virtually no records of the day to day lives of any Native American Indians who grew up in the earlier part of the 20th century, particularly those who grew up living in white society. For the most part, they'd ignore you and keep on doing what they wanted to do. That's the lesson I was taught by the ones I knew growing up. But go ahead and remaking history. We've heard endless tales of black lives, and how they survived.

by Anonymousreply 75December 21, 2021 2:44 AM

Age definitely improved his looks. He was way too girly looking in the 80s. Androgyny is fine but there must be an equal balance of masculinity and femininity to work. Once Thelma and Louise hit, he developed more ruggedness to his face which made him a star.

Happy bday, Mr. P!

by Anonymousreply 77December 21, 2021 3:08 AM

It has been my experience that most black people have great pride in any Native American ancestry in their bloodline.

by Anonymousreply 78December 21, 2021 3:12 AM

R78 Which is odd considering Native Americans owned slaves and worked as slave catchers. The Five Civilized Nations were dubbed that because they imitated white culture and had leaders of mostly white ancestry. The Seminoles, Shinnecock, Mohawk and Lenape actually did mix heavily with Black Americans. But the Cherokee, Chickasaw and Creek for instance were extremely racist towards Black people and also very colorist towards their darker skinned members. There was a big controversy over many tribes not allowing descendants of Black freedmen to claim tribal membership despite their ancestors being owned by these Native tribes and listed on the Dawes Roll.

Majority of Black Americans have European blood. Not Native American. Of course because of the shameful legacy of slavery and incidents of rape. It's not something to be proud of. Also many light-skinned blacks lied and said they were Native American in order to have more freedom (many free people of color could get kidnapped and sold into slavery) and post-slavery, to be less affected by segregation (the Lumbee Tribe is an infamous example of this).

Afro Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans, Panamanians and Brazilians do have Indigenous blood though.

His mother is racist. Ironic.

by Anonymousreply 86December 21, 2021 5:20 AM

Huh? Europeans don't have prominent brows and long noses?

Also, you realize that many black-white mixtures can result in an "intermediate" type of look that can get mistaken for East Asian, Native, Indian, Jewish, Mediterranean, etc. Most White Southerners are far more likely to have African blood than Native. Most of Oklahoma got taken over by white Southerners who moved in after it became a state and the Native population got dwarfed by the settlers and marginalized.

by Anonymousreply 87December 21, 2021 5:21 AM

I've taught many, many NA mixed kids. Small tribes. Yes, I can see it. Two blonde nephews and both their grandparents are recognized members of tribes. They are also like 6'3" plus as their father.

by Anonymousreply 88December 21, 2021 5:26 AM

Both of his parents look English to me. He's primarily WASP like many White Southerners. Many white Southerners have this folklore of Native blood to hide their African ancestors. People just see what they want to see. Even if he's part Native American, he's not culturally involved which is what matters the most. Ironic how White people love Native Americans yet seem hostile to Latinos who are actually far more Native American in DNA and have the phenotype.

by Anonymousreply 91December 21, 2021 5:36 AM

I think Brad is just mostly white. But the fact is he is far more likely to have African ancestry than Native. Native Americans were almost completely eradicated from this country, they survived centuries of attempted genocide. Majority of Natives were forcibly removed from the East Coast by the early 1800s and the Western US was not majorly settled until later. So whatever Native ancestry White Americans had would have been bred out by now. White Southerners lived in close proximity to Black Americans which made miscegenation far more likely. Many products of these unions who could not pass for white would claim Native as that was the next best thing and since Natives were mostly absent from the Eastern US, nobody could tell who was a Native or not.

by Anonymousreply 92December 21, 2021 5:39 AM

Dude, dna is never "bred out."

Where I live and taught there are many small tribes. Yes, sans last names, I could see it in the brow or the nose. I'm done with the contrarian.

You are an idiot.

by Anonymousreply 95December 21, 2021 5:47 AM

R93 Yes it technically is. You realize America was and is a racist country right? You think mixed people didn't lie about their heritage and purposely married a white person so that their child would have a better life? Being part Black or part Native was not something that was fun in the 1700s or 1800s. White people conveniently started claiming Native after all the tribes were kicked out and mostly killed off. He is not a member of a tribe, he has no affiliation. Yes, I know many Natives mixed but he is not culturally Native American. Prominent brow lines, jaws and high cheekbones can exist in many ethnicities.

See the brow with the brother. That's it.

by Anonymousreply 113December 21, 2021 1:26 PM

He looks good for his age, but he has a great surgeon.

by Anonymousreply 114December 21, 2021 1:43 PM

This thread is getting hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 115December 21, 2021 1:57 PM

Doug Pitt is one handsome man.

by Anonymousreply 116December 21, 2021 2:15 PM

I’d eat brad and dougs asses.

by Anonymousreply 117December 21, 2021 2:17 PM

Apostrophe.

by Anonymousreply 118December 21, 2021 5:22 PM

Brad and Doug's eyes do not look Asian or Native. Am I looking at their pics wrong? Because all I see is too white blonde guys. Some Bjork, Josh Hartnett and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have small, slanted eyes, olive skin and dark hair which caused some people to mistake them for part Asian. But there's nothing racially ambiguous looking about cornfed Midwesterner like Brad Pitt. People even compared to his looks to James Dean who also has a similar eye shape, high cheekbones and pouty lips and blonde hair. Jennifer Lawrence also has small eyes and high cheekbones and so does Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Moss, all blondes. In fact many Irish, British, Germans, Italians, Scandinavians and French have these features. I think maybe it goes to show people idealize high cheekbones, striking eyes and full lips in many cultures and hence why celebrities around the globe have them.

This is still very nice to me. It's how he seems to feel so confident in his skin with no hint of arrogance. Always a sexy trait

Robin Givens allegedly dumped him because of his terrible hygiene.

Brad also briefly dated Thandie Newton, who he hooked up with while shooting Interview with the Vampire.

I heard the rumors about him having poor hygiene. I've heard the same thing about Keanu Reeves and Matthew McConaughey as well.

by Anonymousreply 123December 21, 2021 9:33 PM

And Ashton Kutcher. Why the fuck don't these people wash?

by Anonymousreply 124December 22, 2021 2:20 AM

Because they are trifling. For fuck’s sake, wash your butt.

by Anonymousreply 125December 22, 2021 12:04 PM

It sounds like arrogance to me. Normal people have to maintain basic hygiene standards or face personal/professional consequences. Stars can stink to high heaven and people will still kiss their (unwashed) asses.

by Anonymousreply 126December 22, 2021 5:36 PM

Being goodlooking is truly a privilege. People like Brad, Keanu, McBongo, Depp, Jimmy Franco and Ashton can dress and smell like absolute shit but having good looks makes people tolerate it. I've heard Marilyn Monroe had poor hygiene and Tyra Banks (well many fashion models too due to drugs and laxatives) as well.

by Anonymousreply 127December 22, 2021 5:39 PM

Bad hygiene can bring a 10 down to a 5 in my humble opinion. Maybe when you add fame on top of it, people don't care.

by Anonymousreply 128December 22, 2021 5:40 PM

Fame and wealth certainly enhances attractiveness. Plus most people will never have a chance to meet these celebrities which helps. It's always interesting hearing stories of people who worked in Hollywood to get a better snapshot of what these famous people are like. I think most people with a healthy dose of self-esteem would not tolerate a good-looking person with poor hygiene, a drug addiction and awful personality. The sex may be bomb at first but that gets boring after a while and you get sick of them.

by Anonymousreply 131December 23, 2021 11:27 PM

We dont want those damn spoiled brats around us...Theyre fine in small doses, but that bitch poisoned their minds.

by Anonymousreply 132December 23, 2021 11:31 PM

r131 And what about this year?

by Anonymousreply 133December 23, 2021 11:33 PM

There's no proof that all his kids hate him. He doesn't trot them out for pap pics, but that doesn't mean he doesn't see them.

If he's patient, most of them will come back around, especially as Angelina gets crazier with age.

by Anonymousreply 134December 23, 2021 11:38 PM

The judge who favored 50/50 got dismiss, he lost the appeal, Angelina also got her way by selling her stake to a third party, now a state attorney is investigating Brad’s 3 therapists, he got outed by Angelina for being a Weinstein hypocrite…

Beautiful people are people and have the same flaws. In fact a beautiful women like Angie who is spoiled by society would act like a brat and hold a grudge because she thinks she's Gods gift to mankind.

by Anonymousreply 137December 24, 2021 12:01 AM

is she maleficent?

by Anonymousreply 138December 24, 2021 12:10 AM

Those adopted Asian kids are not worth Brad's trouble. He should focus on the bio kids and the black girl.

by Anonymousreply 139December 24, 2021 12:19 AM

At this point I doubt Brad cares much about having a relationship with Pax. When you have an adopted child that makes it clear he or she does not care for you as a parent you have to at some point give them their freedom and move on.

by Anonymousreply 140December 24, 2021 12:24 AM

Yep and Angie can foot the bill for these two losers. Brad should not have to pay a penny for the upkeep of these weirdo brats.

She is such a ghoul, can't wait to see her degeneration over the next 5 years. She already looks half-drowned. Aging anorectics never look good. Her skin is sallow, sunken eyes, hair without luster....

by Anonymousreply 143December 24, 2021 12:39 AM

[quote] now a state attorney is investigating Brad’s 3 therapists,

Not exactly accurate.

Jolie filed a complaint against one of the therapists who clearly found against her and her behavior. She is out to punish in any way she can everyone who found her wanting as a mother or found Brad a good father. Any complaint by law has to be investigated by the licensing board. The lawyer for the board had to file a motion to the court on the issue of asking the court to unseal the therapist's reports to the court so the board can proceed with its required investigation. That's all the so called "state lawyer" has done and will do.

If she has also filed complaints against any other doctors or therapists, then the same procedure is required.

The default is 50-50. It makes little difference which judge ends up making that final 50-50 decision. Jolie is just trying to run out the clock so they all age out of the court's jurisdiction. She is a terrible and abusive parent.

Jolie's crazy stans want it to seem l like you posted - that "state attorneys" are investigating. She has played this game all along. Please don't play along with her.

by Anonymousreply 144December 24, 2021 2:22 AM

Watch out Brad, this Investigative Visual Journalist and Public Records Expert is out to get Brad. All her tweets is about Britney snd Brad and I wonder if Angelina paid for her and all her “fans” to destroy him.

If Jolie really felt secure in her relationships with the children, she wouldn't still be trying to get full custody away from Brad. Of course, in the next couple of years Pax and Sahara will be adults and it will all be moot. The adopted kids seem to be the ones she likes best, anyway.

I', R50 and whatever numbered responses above that, and it has been eating me alive that I didn't give them their just dues.

I sort of hate most of the people who comment here at this point, but here it goes.

Neither had a formal education. I know for a fact one of them didn't make it past jr. high, the other I'm almost positive did not graduate high school. Both were extremely intelligent, not just in the sense of what they had to deal with, but in a very real world sense. Both were very successful. They very pragmatic, yet generous. Both grew up penniless, and by that I mean the whole family shared a can of soup for dinner, or eating onions on white bread. Dirt poor. I also know neither were able to conceive their own children due to physical abuse.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who has done so much with what little they had. I'm very grateful for them being in my life.

But despite all of that, somehow, they won. They kept going. Not just in the family, but in the world they inhabited. One had a marble bench created to sit beside her grave site. This person was one of the 1%. Very, very rich. So that might sound trite, but I know how that person took care of her in her, and made sure everything was cared for in her final days. And yes, he made sure her life was good way before any of that happened. They (there were more than one in that company

The other one's funeral had traffic around the block. She was a bitch, but she was fantastic. If there is a purgatory, I'd like to spend it at her breakfast counter, drinking coffee, and smoking cigarettes

by Anonymousreply 147December 24, 2021 3:51 AM

R146, Yea Pax turned 18 this year and Zahara has one more year till she does as well.

by Anonymousreply 148December 24, 2021 3:55 AM

The twins won't be 18 until 2026. I don't think Angie can keep the games going that long.

by Anonymousreply 149December 24, 2021 3:59 AM

R149, that is why she is out to destroy Brad’s image so she can get sole custody, she has political aspirations in the UK…

by Anonymousreply 150December 24, 2021 4:04 AM

I used to be crazy about Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry. But they both turned out to be toxic cunts. Professional victims.

by Anonymousreply 151December 24, 2021 10:27 AM

Yeah, that's true r151, but in their hey-day, they owned the Red Carpet.

and that's about the all I care about.

by Anonymousreply 152December 24, 2021 11:25 AM

R149, these bitches can keep the game going forever. Because there is no winning, just the game.

by Anonymousreply 153December 24, 2021 12:18 PM

Lest we forget Angelina is a (as far as we know) reformed junky. The fact that a heroin addict was allowed to adopt children at all is bad enough. But then those kids weren't adopted as much as they were purchased. And besides that she's a miserable wretch of a human being.

by Anonymousreply 154December 24, 2021 12:27 PM

Angie is proof you don't stick your dick into crazy not matter how beautiful the crazy is.

by Anonymousreply 155December 24, 2021 12:59 PM

R144 is correct. As an MD, I have had a few nutters file complaints, one who was eventually arrested for stalking and harassing me. The boards are used to these type of claims, which have no merit. IT is a bother to have to deal with these though.

by Anonymousreply 156December 24, 2021 1:07 PM

R150 This has been discussed previously. Angie had her wings clipped and was told she could not move to the UK with her kids. Kids had to stay in CA per judge's order. This is one of the reasons she became so vicious to Brad. It was the first time Angie was told NO and had to follow a legal order. She was pals with the very gay William Hague, a Tory, and fancied becoming a Tory MP. Again, Angie thinks very highly of herself, to think she can plop herself in the UK and become a MP.

by Anonymousreply 157December 24, 2021 1:17 PM

R145, those women have been around for a long time doing a copy of the mattress woman performance act. They feel they have been "victimized" by the California courts and they rail against them at every opportunity. They have been using Jolie's war against Brad as succor for their own rage against the courts.

They are very very selective in what they tweet and argue. They are not actually truthful.

Some of the same experts that Jolie is now complaining about were on her own witness lists for trial last year. LOL!

These women are also part of the movement that is trying to deny that Parental Alienation exists. It's challenging and difficult to fight back against people who want to win at all costs and are willing to damage the children they claim to want to help in their battles.

by Anonymousreply 158December 24, 2021 3:24 PM

R56 is correct. In the south, black folks use terminology such as red bone, & yella.

Usually, these terms are used to describe African Americans who have diverse, mixed ancestry. It’s not a derogatory or even inflammatory term, when used by southerners who are black or mixed. I’ve never heard white people in the south use this terminology, but it’s common as well as (usually) complimentary, when used as a descriptor by African Americans.

Also, yellow skin is called “high yella”, LOL.
